I was diagnosed with leukemia. I told the doctor as soon as he walked in the room DO NOT TREAT ME if it will cost me money. He assured my mom and I it would not cost anything. The Bone Marrow Unit would absorb the cost. Well my bills are now over 700K. I can forward you the bills and you can pay them since you know EVERYTHING.

Please if you have been harassed by Brent D. Stamps Attorney, which it looks like most of you have, please contact the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau today. I just submitted my complaint against Mr. Stamps, and asked for him to be held accountable for treating people the way they do. I have been dealing with their rude callers mainly a Mr. Garcia for over a year now. I have disputed a debt that I cant get my insurance to prove I owe (I am working with the insurance commissioner though.) If everyone one of us on here report this abuse we will give back what they have been dishing out. We must band together and stand up for our rights. Please go to the website today and report your complaint it is the only way these people will be held accountable for their actions. Pay your bill before it get to the law office  and you would not have these problems, be thankful  they even call because they can puts liens against property or garnesh wages, and since you think you know so much the hospital will send letters and try and obtain payment 120 days before it goes to collections, at that point the collection agency will try for 90 to 120 to obtain payment when it gets tot eh lawyer, its not their problem about any billing issues, its yours..

Any company who claims they don't have to send you proof of debt is not a legitiment company. I've gotten a call from this number twice now. The first time when I answered there was no one on the other line and I got hung up on after saying hello three times. The second time, I didn't pick up and there was no message left. Can't be important if you won't even bother to speak to me. From some research I've done, this "company" has a history of buying paid debts to try and scare people into paying again. Reading through this sounds more like they are a scare and scam instead of a legitiment collection agency.

The phone calls are now coming from Texas with the updated name Brent Massey and cline. I've had two now. My husband assures me they are frauds scamming people. New numbers are as follows 214 296 2920. Newest 972-961-3105. The thing is they talk like they are going to criminally prosecute you on the machine. You can't for legit debt. Debtors prison doesn't exist anymore. Also. Better business bureau says they must send you paper documentation of that debt before you have to pay anything. I went through this with a legit but aggressive debt company.  The legit ones didn't leave threats on my voicemail either. Just an FYI for those who got nervous like I did getting that call. I told them to do their worst and hung up. So they called back two weeks later bullying my voicemail with the same crap and threats. So yea. Pretty sure it's a scam

In GA, you do not have to tell the other party you are recording the conversation.  As long as one party of the conversation knows (which would be you), it's fine.  You would not sue through the FTC.  You would sue in a court of law - state or federal.  You may file a complaint through the FTC, and they can choose to go after him.

Stop posting until you actually get an education.  They taught capitalization in elementary school, so you're giving your level of education away!  That's probably why you're stuck making minimum wage answering the phone for a shady guy.

If it were a legitimate debt, they'd have no problem sending you a breakdown of the charges, the total, the account number, and the original creditor in writing.

You have no idea what you're talking about.  He is a third party creditor.  If he were a direct or original creditor, he'd be running the hospital, too.  Third party creditors are subject to special prohibitions in federal and state law.  Plus, as an attorney, he's held to a higher standard by the Rules of Professional Conduct.  I think he ought to read them again.  Plus, even if there is a valid debt (and some of them that he's collecting seem quite suspicious, as they can't give any information about them to verify them), there are still things that creditors cannot do.  So, even if the debt is valid, the creditor can be sued for violating federal or state law (both apply to third party creditors).  And another thing, under the Rules of Professional Conduct, he has to make sure his employees (especially non-lawyers like you) don't violate the Rules either.  He needs to tell y'all not to get on here and hold yourself out to know something about the law or to make discretionary assumptions about peoples' debts when you don't know all the facts of the case or the applicable law.

You're not too bright are you?  How can you presume to know who legally owes whom what?  When someone like me with perfect credit and no outstanding medical bills (I even pay my damn credit cards of every month) gets phone calls from these scam artists saying I owe money to a hospital when I DO NOT.  Do you want to talk about legal?  If these people can't even tell me the date of service, the services that I was allegedly charged for, the account number, their physical address, etc., I'm pretty sure the bill isn't legitimate.  If it were, they'd know all that.  They even asked me for my address and social security number.  Again, if it were a legitimate medical bill of mine, they'd already know that.  And I asked for a bill with a full breakdown in writing and told them that, once I received it and verified it, I'd send them a check.  NO!  They refused a legitimate check!  No, they wanted my bank account information or credit card number over the phone.  I hope that none of you give them any of this information.  There is NO LAW that says you have to tell them what they should already know or that you have to pretty much give them access to your accounts.  Perhaps you should watch what you say about others.  I doubt your credit is as good as 95% of the people on here.

You are wrong.  Hospitals can turn over accounts to collections even if you have arranged a payment plan and have never been late or missed a payment.  And they often do.  You are no better than these sleazy people who just assume that people like me, with a credit score in the 800s (I bet yours isn't that high!), are deadbeats.  This "firm" has been calling me repeatedly.  I never received a bill from the hospital itself, and, because of the way my insurance is structured, the hospital contacted my insurance company and determined my out-of-pocket before my procedures.  I had to pay in lump sum on the date the service was rendered, and I paid it in full.  Suddenly, this sham law firm is telling me I owe more money, but they will not disclose what the charges were for, how much my insurance covered, and exactly how my lump sum was applied.  They have to by law.  In addition, this is a collection agency falsely holding itself out as a law firm.  It's just a standard collection agency, and Brent Stamps has lent his name to them.  He probably has no idea what the day-to-day operations are.  For that, he may be subject to discipline by the Bar.  Plus, that's another violation of state and federal law, and, as third party creditors, they are subject to both.  A collection agency must identify itself as such.  It cannot falsely imply that it is a law firm, nor can it falsely imply that an attorney is behind the collection.  Their letters also appear to be a violation, as they are on firm letterhead and seem to suggest that they are official documents.  They have also used numerous tactics which are prohibited by both state and federal law, including threatening (or implying that legal action has already commenced) when it has not and likely will not.  And, if you have worked in collections and threatened to sue someone, YOU violated the law.  You are not an attorney.  It's unauthorized practice of law to hold yourself out as one or to make statements that imply you have the professional discretion to bring a suit in any court.  UPL is a misdemeanor in Georgia, just so you know.  You remind me of the fool I talked to.  I asked specifically to speak to the lawyer.  He said I couldn't.  I asked to speak to a paralegal.  He said I couldn't.  I asked for the attorney's secretary or his voicemail.  He said he couldn't do it.  He said that I could only discuss the issue with him.  That is NOT how a real law firm operates, and again, by law, a debt collection agency must identify itself as such and not represent itself as that which it is not (e.g. a legitimate law firm).  A low level phone person has no business attempting to discuss legal matters with anyone.  They may only stick to business specifics.  I specifically asked to speak to the attorney because I needed to discuss aspects of the fair credit practice acts, both state and federal.  He actually TOLD me he was familiar with those laws.  My response was, "Oh, so you know ALL ABOUT the FDCPA?"  He actually told me he'd read the WHOLE THING!  I don't even think there's a lawyer on the planet who sat down and read the whole thing.  Attorneys just research provisions that apply to their cases.  So, in my opinion, I think he's skating on thin ice with UPL, and you best be careful you don't either.  And no, I owe no respect to some jerk who treats me like a sorry loser who doesn't pay my bills (when I bet my track record is better than his).  Nor do I owe any respect to a fool who is talking out of his tail end as if he knows something about the law when he probably gets paid minimum wage to answer phones and belittle people (many of whom are likely more knowledgeable than he is).

Do not call the State Bar of Georgia.  If you have not received written correspondence from Mr. Stamps office (I received nothing) and they are trying to add "interest" fees etc to your account- contact the Federal Trade Commission.  If you contact the FTC and enough of us can speak up about these practices they can open an investigation.  If an investigation reveals misconduct the State Bar of Georgia can then get involved.  The FTC governs Debt collection practices.  CALL TODAY IF YOU FEEL YOU HAVE BEEN TREATED INAPPROPRIATELY!  Federal Trade Commission 1-877-382-4357

I have received a letter from this shyster's office regarding a debt for a serious and emergency series of  medical procedures that was performed at a large "Northside" of Atlanta hospital. My medical emergency and subsequent treatment  happened in 2012, and I thought that I had worked a plan out with the large "Northside" of  Atlanta hospital that would allow me to pay this bill over time, $25.00 a month. As it turned out the large "Northside" of Atlanta hospital lied and sent my account to this collection agency in June 2013. (Patient Accounts Bureau) Isn't that such a compassionate thing to do, make a deal and then renege on the deal?

Anyway, I received my "Emma" call, got her to agree to my original plan (that was still all of the money that was available) and quickly sent the $25.00 payment along with a letter thanking them for the arrangement. I have been doing the monthly payment, accompanied by a letter since then. Of course they always take the money, because they have to. They continue to threaten me by phone.
Fast forward to today, I receive a "Brent D Stamps" letter that states an amount owed that differs by $100.00 from what I actually owe.

I am thinking that I will just ignore this letter and continue to pay the "Emma" agreed plan, and keep all records of these transaction in case they do sue me. I will happily go to court against this charlatan and let them explain just why they are doing this.

What I assume is this company called my parents office yesterday asking for me and referring to some sort of fraud division.  My father called me asking what it was and I told him exactly what it is - a scam.  Back in 2007-2008 I fell victim to identity theft and have had problems with this type of call ever since, they seem to pop up every few months.  This call came from someone named Anna at Brock, Massey, and Klein, 678-250-6322.  If you Google this "company" name and number no info comes up so I'm pretty sure it's a new name and number for these losers.  As always, I will file a complaint with the CA attorney general and FTC.  If they call you just hang up, they're trying to scam money out of you.  File complaints with your local state and FTC and let them handle it.

Just received a phone call from a fraudulent company called Brock, Massey & Klien stating that I owed money from a cash payday loan back in 2011.  I am really tired of these companies call me for the same reason over and over again.  I have look from the opening of my bank account to the end of it and there has never been a deposit of any sort other than the ones I have made personally.  I tried to explain it to the young lady that I wanted to the number to the place that was accusing me of stealing money from their company. She decided to put me on with her supervisor who was very rude and stating that if I did not pay this amount then they would inform their client of my decision and I would go to court.  The number was 678-250-6322.  It look like it might be the same place as this one but doing a different thing.  I do put all the information that i have on the FBI website but is seem to not be working.

This firm engages in using harassing telephone robo calls. For the last three years they have called me using various tel. Numbers stating they are collecting a debt. The debt they call about is in regards to a medicare co pay. I had. a MRI and was charged a 85 dollar co pay which I paid after they called Humana to find out what co pay to charge me. A couple months later I started receiving a bill for a further co pay which they stated that was due. I told them I paid the copayment and was not paying another copayment especially after they had contacted the Insurance co. later they turned the bill over to Brent Stamps who sent me a letter demanding the payment. I answered his demand by explaining this was a second copayment and I was not paying the bill. Hence for 3 years I get calls daily form them asking for payment.  You would think after my letter and 3 yrs of calling they would get the message.

To deal with these scammers simply tell them that when they wake up in the morning and look into the mirror, they know that they are a loser because they are nothing but a scam. Give them the same s*** that they give you. They will tell you something like go to hell and they will hang up. They will quit calling until your number gets drawn again out of their little lottery system that they do. They ARE NOT real investigators, they cannot and will not come get you so feel free to give them as much hell as they give you! Have fun with it!

A Mr. Payne contacted me from the "Law Offices of Brent Stamps," regarding a debt with Northside Hospital.  I lost my job and have been able to make only small payments on my account.  I owe another $1,500 and was told by Mr. Payne that I have to make the payment in full on a credit card.  I am fortunate to not have credit card debt, but was told because I have the credit available to me, they could not offer me monthly payments.  Is this even legal?  I'm not in any position to pay +20% interest to a credit card company.

This morning I received a call from "the Law Offices of Brent Stamps" with the usual warning that the call might be recorded. Well, I hope it was!  They apparently are doing collections for a hospital who I have been making payments to directly for almost a year now. I told the young woman on the phone that I have been paying the hospital directly.  She then told me that I had not made a payment in July. I told her that I was aware of that and hoped to make a payment in the next week as soon as I was able. She then practically screamed "what's up with the attitude!"  At that point I hung up. I am very grateful to this hospital and am continuing to pay them. If indeed Brent Stamps is acting as a representative for this hospital's business office then the firm needs to cosider a more professional approach when dealing with clients in order to get results.

Thanks for listening...
