this person is calling  me saying they are detective waters and is filing a warrant for my arrest.with berkeley county.

For at least the last year, an illegal group of debt collectors have been terrorizing consumers, their family, friends, and employees threatening to arrest the individual of an unpaid loan or other debt (their generally don't even owe). Be aware debt is a civil matter, not a criminal matter, and you can't be arrested. They threaten a warrant if the victim does not pay a sum of money by the credit card over the phone.

Even if you do owe a debt, do not be deceived by the actions of this group.  Many of the accounts they are attempting to collect they do not own.  In other words, if you pay these people, that is not going to clear your debt with its rightful owner.  

Although when pressed the callers give the victim an address in Columbia South Carolina (usually a vacant lot) or Atlanta GA (often a parking lot near the bus station). They are actually out of the Charlotte North Carolina area. The scammers are using the following business names

A message from a "Savannah Grant" was left on our answering machine. She claimed the call was for a "Jennifer Burger James" & that she was from Prince William County, Investigation Unit. First of all, no one by that name resides at our home. Also, the telephone number she left IS NOT a Prince William County, VA phone number. Caller ID captured the number she was calling from as 866-883-2350. Further, her message stated a deposition was needed for a Motion of Dissent. Clearly, this is some sort of scam that others need to be aware of. Both telephone numbers identified with this caller will be "blocked'.

got a call for a person i knew stating that there were 3 warrants out for the persons arresst based on 3 fraud charges in the state of new york .

Someone called me stating if I did not pay for a payday loan 2 fraud charges was going to be filed ..Do not fall for this! ! AScam

My daughter-in-law got a call from this number- the caller claimed to be in the Maricopa County District Attorney's office in Phoenix AZ, demanding a payment for an alleged disputed bank charge for which an arrest warrant had supposedly been issued- "wire transfer us money because the cops are on the way". First, the actual government agency in Arizona is just the County Attorney. Second, obviously the phone number is in Georgia not Arizona. Third, when called back there's no answer but caller ID says the number is for a private individual, Savannah Grant. Watch out for these fraudsters.
