Pay day loans are a civil not a criminal matter.  Since they started calling me again on something from 2004, I assume they are looking for money to pay off their credit cards for their christmas purchases.  This is a scam.  I hear from the same people about every 6 months to a year for the past 8 years.  This debt was discharged in bankruptcy over 4 years ago.  I filed a complain with the NY attorney General's office for illegal collection techniques.  In fact I fully believe that they buy lists from payday loan companies and just go down the list until someone bites.  Ignore them.  They can not have your arrested.  The most they can do is sue you for the money in civil court.  In any case, if the person on the other end of the phone will not give you an address to submit payments too or will not send you proof that you owe the money do not deal with them.  They are a scam.

I received a voice message from a Ms. Drake, stating that her firm had information that my social security number might have been compromised, and that she would followup with me regarding this matter.  I was quite concerned, and extremely skeptical, which is what prompted my investigation into the source of the phone number given! Thank everyone for the information provided, I now am prepared to deal with this matter when she calls again!!

I have received the same phone call from a Todd Larson stating that i would be arrested either at home or at work and that if i did not pay immediately he would have no other option but to go this route. I repeatedly asked for the name of the creditor and his business name but was refused. This is a scam and the only thing you can do is file a report with your State Attorney General, the FTC and possibly Secret Service. Notify your employer as well so they understand.

same thing call from 678-974-1985 and 678-974-1980. must call back before end of day or they will put a warrant out for my arrest for a felony.  i didn't commit a crime, and i told them that.  requested it in writing, never got anything. regular mail and email, nothing. their return call number is 1-877-601-9194, they give the same x9009 for both Ms. Turner and the supposed office manager "Todd Lawson" guy.  I return a call to the 877# asked for a lady, and get a call back from the 678#, demanding I just called there he "knows who this is".

its for a payday loan from bottom dollar payday.  this Todd Lawson guy wants to "approve" you paying them, on his terms, and if he doesn't accept it will take it to court and issue a warrant for your arrest.  and to add to that.  everytime a payment goes in they want a mandatory $19 processing fee, and they tell you to go out and buy a prepaid debit card.  they only take cards.  they won't accept checks or money orders, and they won't provide an address to send payments???

when i asked who it was for, the response was you know.  i asked for the company name and number, refused to give it to me, told me to research it myself.

so i did, called bottom dollar they told me the payday loan was for $500.  this "Todd Lawson" guy tells me $2800, BIG DIFFERENCE.

if i took a payday loan, and it didn't get paid back because i did not have the money.  that is a debt owed.  no different than any other loan, or obligation.  ITS A DEBT--which is CIVIL.  

this IS NOT A CRIMINAL MATTER.  this is not internet fraud or check fraud or anything else.  we are in a recession, and people are loosing jobs and becoming unemployed by the second.  that equates to no money to pay loans, obligations, etc..  that is not a criminal action.  

they cannot issue a warrant for your arrest.

furthermore, i contacted the attorney listed above.  1-855-301-5100 Lemberg Law.  provided all the phone numbers listed above.  they said it is a SCAM.  do not pay them, they are just trying to get money.  if they can't put it in writing, then it cannot be validated.  Lemberg Law, won't proceed foward to address harrassment, because it won't do them or me any good, IT IS A SCAM.

I received the same call on both my cell phone and my work phone. Todd Watson/Lawson advised my co worker that he was going to file criminal charges for internet and banking fraud, which is a felony. He didn't leave any additional information but I'm assuming it's for a payday loan I took out several months ago. I am currently filing bankruptcy and have a call into my attorney for guidance on where to go from here. Does anyone know the answers to the following?
1) If I advise this person not to call my place of employment does he have to stop?
2) Can they file felony charges against me?

I got the same thing on my work vm today. I have not called back. But you can not get arrested for not paying a payday loan back. It is a civil matter. They are just trying to get money out of you.

I received a message today from this number and the gentleman(Todd Lawson or Larson) stated that I needed to call him back immediately regarding an online payday loan that was from 2008 and that if I did not respond before end of busines, there would be a warrant for my arrest for internet and bank fraud. I called him back and asked for information to give to an attorney and he said if I had the money for an attorney that I should have paid my debt. He then screamed a few threats at me and hung up. Does anyone have any information regarding these types of calls?
