Got a phone call. No message left.

Guess what?  It is June 9, 2010 and this guy is still up to the same tricks.  I replied to an ad on craigslist for a 2006 Nissan Maxima, loaded, for $2700.00.  I knew it was a con but I emailed him anyway.  He replied saying he was in the military and about to return to Iraq (HA!).  He really made it sound legitimate, but you know how it is - if it sounds to good to be true, run like the devil to get away! The ad was wriiten as though it were local but in his reply he said the car would be shipped from North Dakota. Obviously I didn't fall for it but decided to Google his name and email address - davidrichards@gmail.com - and this is what I found.  What bothers me most about this jerk is his use of the military to try to bilk people.  We have young men and women dying every day to defend this country and even this moron's right to freedom, and still this lazy,selfish, greedy, crooked, unprincipled
piece of trash plays on people's sympathy and sense of patriotism to steal their hard earned money.  I hope and pray that somebody catches him and puts him in a military prison - it would serve him right!

I see reports of this from Feb. How is this guy still out there? How come he's not getting in trouble, our government should have the means to put an end to this!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't fall for it!

I got the same emails.  I continued to have several email correspondence with this guy while validating if it was a legimate deal, which I was sure it was not.  And sure enough, it isn't.  This guy is a ruthless low life.

I played him along trying to gather more information.  I never talked to him but had numerous email conversations with him.  The last email that I sent, I stated that I wanted to come to Florida to see the car.  I was curious as to what his response would be.  He stated that the car was already in the custody of the shipping service.  Likely story.  I emailed him back and told him what I thought of him and what a ruthless low life he was.  I have not received any email back from him and don't expect that I will.

Please don't fall prey to his scam.

Well this so call biztch was selling a 2002 Dodge Ram fare below book value. I knew it was too good to be true he emailed me several times, I am contacted the local police here in Nashville and hope he gets his a** fisted in jail.

My husband checked in on the Dodge as well. Unfortunalty it didn't occur to me to check out the number until it was to late. My husbad sent him $2,000.00 via Money Gram! Please be careful with this guy. He really needs to be caught. I suggest contacting your states attorney general and see what that does. Other than that I don't think that there is anything else anyone can do.

Of course the cars don't exist.

They'll pretend to sell you a car and ask you to send them a deposit by Western Union, which, of course, will disappear along with "LT Sauer, David" and end up funding international terrorism, the Nigerian mafia or African tinpot dictators.

Yes I got this same email from this guy. But I'm not sure if he or she will like the message I sent back. I gave this person the phone number to the Sheriffs Office transportation number. Which my dad is the main boss or should I say SHERIFF! Well lets just say when you transport a inmate to another jail. The calls are tracked both ways. An there is a tracking device on the phone and where the call is bein made to. The Sheriffs Office is trying to bring this person down, because no one should mess with any one or when one of their parents is the SHERIFF. Believe me my daddy and his works are very smart..........;) and boy where does this person get all these nice car and sell them for such a low price?

We also got info on craigslist from this guy.  Interestingly enough, he used lt. david sauer as well, we googled the name first and found that is a real person in texas, I feel bad for the real lt. David sauer.  Anyway, used this number, same lingo about not having time at his disposal, and I guess using a Lt. name to try to sound more reliable.  What a jerk!

I responded to a listing on craigslist from henry clements for a mazda 3.  Apparently it is all a scam. I just googled his name and i found this website but under a different number.  I then searched the number he gave me and it brought me here.  He is using different numbers and different names.  somebody should really nail this guy.

Definitely a fraud I got this message from him when I asked why he was selling a car for $7,000 under the blue book value..

This guy is a fraud. He's trying to scam people on craigslist posting as a leutinant, he gave me Lt James Wilson and another guy Mathew Moore. Is there any legal recourse craigslist or the users can persue this jerk with?

I got a response to an add that I inquired about on craiglist telling me to call this #. It was listed as a local add and I didnt recognize the area code so I did some research before calling the # and it looks to be a fraud. 701 area code is listed as nonexistent. I dont recommend anyone to call this # at all! It might be one of those scams that if you call, they bill you thousands of $ on your phone bill.
