I'm the person that posted about this phone number above, also as "AnonymousPoster."
Now two weeks later, I just got a call from ANOTHER Vegas number (702.948.7558) that seems to be associated with this 1238 Vegas number. Posters are now claiming that both of this numbers are inquiring on behalf of the Riviera Mia hotel in Vegas. There is no Riviera Mia hotel in Vegas. One poster said the 7558 number is calling on behalf of the Golden Legacy Resort in Vegas. There is no such named resort in Vegas.
I was in Vegas six weeks ago, and now I am suddenly getting these weird no-message calls from these two "disconnected" numbers. I must have given my number to some pretty young woman in Vegas who, seeing I was dressed like money, handed my number over to these scammers who are probably using a variety of pretexts to obtain credit card and other identity information.
I suggest you hang up on, and block, both of these telephone numbers. Of course, they'll probably just get another new telephone number next week. Sheesh.

The one who called me said they were the "Director of VIP Promotions" at the Golden Legacy resort in Las Vegas. That was all I needed to hang up.

Its a promotion company, calling on behalf I believe the Rivera Mia hotel in Vegas or something. Have called me twice and hung up on me each time when I'm about to say take me off the list.

Just got this call again, they've called 3 times, each time they never say anything after the greeting.
It's a Vegas number, that's all I can tell.

I just got a call from this number and they did not leave a message. I am getting so exhausted dealing with these calls from unsavory folks.
If you have any update I would appreciate it.

This number came up at my desk. I answered, but noone spoke on the other end. After repeating the greeting and waiting just under a minute I hung up the phone. It felt like there was someone on the other end just listening.

I did not answer the call from this number since it was unfamiliar. No message was left. The 702-255 exchange is dedicated to CenturyLink land lines in Northwest Las Vegas. I later returned the call (while *67 blocking my own phone number) and I heard a ?not in service? message. Several other posters on several other ?who is calling? message boards described this same situation, all posted in the same timeframe, the last few days of March, 2012. The 702-255-1238 number is either being CallerID spoofed (or is running through a switchboard that is rigged to deflect any incoming calls). And THAT means that whoever is calling from 702-255-1238 is rolling sketchy and you don?t want to talk to them. One poster said they were selling insurance. That sounds like an excellent pretext for scamming identity theft information out of people. If they call again I?ll talk to them, just to try to figure out what the scam is, so I can post it here. But they?ll probably just switch to a new spoof phone number after they scam a few folks.
