I received both emails and calls from this "agency", the calls from a person who claimed to be named "Shawn". He also said there was a demand for talent in my area (Alaska?! Come on, man! Really?!), and that I had been selected for a part in an upcoming Johnny Depp flick that was to be filmed in this region. I'm not entirely sure Mr. Depp would appreciate his name being used in their devious ploy, especially after such slander the critics have unceremoniously heaved upon him after the Trancendence debacle, however unjustly. Thusly, yes...Explore Talent is not only a gigantic waste of money, but a scandalous ploy to cheat the working man/woman out of their hard won currency.

They called me and told me they were a talent agent and that I had been matched to a job in their database. They asked me to hold on they were going to get the job info. I was onhold a long time and I finally hung up. They called back but I did not answer.

If you really want  to act/sing/dance there are agents that will take you for free.  Never pay for something like this. My daughter's agent never asked for money.

Did you ever follow up ? I got a call from the same #. He didnt specify where, but did say there were 2 different levels, but would submit my pics

Explore talent.      This company it's legit at scaming ppl.....you have to. Pay to have your info/ profile in their data base....witch is like putting your portfolio in a file cabinet and forgetting about it....trust me....i worked for a agency and was a model ....so i know whats the deal.....the fact that i have never heard of anyone making it big out of this company that has been around for a while speaks for it self.

Got a call from a guy named Devin Hall or Hull, something like that anyway. He said he had auditions for some big titles internationally and locally (paraphrasing of course) not sure if this is the real deal. Told me to call 800-888-0999, at a certain extension.

these folks caught me on the phone once....a legit agent will get the jobs for you & receive  10-20% of the fee on average. when someone asks you to 'pay to play' the only one assured of money is the one you're paying.  i've been a professional performer in stage, film and music without an agent for 20+ years; if an agent isn't getting work for you as a way to earn their pay then it is a scam. They called me a couple months ago, saying they were NY talent adviser.
She wanted me to upgrade my account on ExploreTalent so I could be a premium member and receive all local listings for acting and modeling. Some ppl say its not a scam, and some immediately turn it down as a scam. Has anyone actually succeeded with this? I know you're not supposed to pay upfront fortalent agents, but she said its the quick and easy casting listings that we'd be paying for..  For now, I'm not doing anything with anyone unless I KNOW its 100% legit

They said several casting directors would like to see me.Well,My mom use to say'It ain,t no FOOL like an OLD FOOL"  Yea,i,m getting older......But,.......Momma did,nt raise no Fool!.........This has SCAM all over it.

A few hundred bucks they told me u get paid anywhere from $800/day for casting... Could u be more specific when u say a few hundred dollars? And they also told me $69.99 for a 6 month membership.

got a call from this number ... it is indeed Explore Talent. you pay them, and they give your name to people in your area that need extras and stuff for films and whatever. not ACTUALLY a scam - but hardly what you want to do if your just looking to make some extra bucks in the film industry.

I got a call, and it was some girls laughing in the background. I kept saying, "Hello? Hello?" and nobody would answer me. So I finally asked, "Is someone going to answer me?" Nobody did. All I heard were girls laughing and talking in the back ground. And then I said something to the effect of, "Come on, b***h." And then they hung up.
Nothing about modeling or an agency. I'm seriously confused.

I got a call asking if i wanted to be an extra in a movie starring Denzel Washington and Mark Walberg.  I looked it up and this really is a movie in the works.  They said extras are paid $126 per day.  I said I'd be interested but yea if i have to pay I don't think it would be any good. I don't know though? ugh

Didn't call back, don't intend to, definitely NOT paying anyone anything -- I am not assisting someone to make a living off this.  The calls have hit the Midwest now.

They left a message about audition. They are Explore Talent.com in Indian Sprint NV. I put my photo for free long time ago.  Then I  changed my mind and wanted to delete it.  I e-mailed the customer service, but they said that I did not need to because they wouldn't charge for it.... I meant that I really did not want my photo on their web site.  So, I just ignore them and their call.  Hopefully it will stop.

this same thing happened to me! I called that number, and that ext, and thats when they started asking for money. Like the person said up above, this is a job...you arent supposed to pay them to represent you, and anyone who says other is definitely a scam. SUCKS!

I don't understand at all...I signed up for Explore Talent, but I never heard of this number before today. The caller left a voice mail with no name, saying I'd called her and she was just calling back; and like I said, I'd never heard of the number before she called me.

My wife joined here and she did get requests for some small gigs.  She made a few hundred bucks and she just got too busy to be able to travel as much and do anymore.  You do pay a small amount to be a member but from what we experienced, it was pretty legit.

ok so i got a text for about the same thing, and talked to a guy named Walter, and he defiantly sounded like a real person, and not like some one in a scam (how ever you never know...) but any whoo, he told me that i would have to upgrade my account on the website if i wanted to be submitted for this "opportunity" So Idk, it does seem legit, however, when i was younger I had a modeling agency and they didn't ask me to pay them so yah.

I got a call from 702-447-0199 from a girl named cynthia..they said it was explore talent but they didn't ask me to put down any money they said they would pay $5,000 for me to come do a photo shoot in LA, all expenses paid..i talked for a while and they still didn't ask for money, this seems like a huge scam but i can't be sure, i wont do it but does anyone know if there is any chance of this being legit?? They told me to call 1-800-888-0999 ex. 3141 which seemed like a real number but from what everyone says this seems like a scam... help?
