they have called us on the cell phone and leave messages but when I call back I get know answer. the number is 702-579-0325 ext 284 and they say the name is ann brown. i keep calling back and have yet to get an answer so I will harass and harass.

Same as above!!! Very annoying - as I have no debts!!! Think he says Jose Flores at extension 279.  I've tried the 'do not call' service but since the incoming call appears as '3' it isn't helping.  I try the 'do not accept' feature on my cell phone and that doesn't help either!  This should be illegal...

yeah, got a voice mail, no extension number though. I don't owe anyone who doesn't get paid (i do have credit cards but pay them every month).  don't know how they got my phone number other than info online I've had to fill out for other things.  I like the idea of sending them continuous SPAM. Keep it up, maybe they'll quit calling. :)

did some digging. the phone number may have a Los Vegas area code, but with reverse lookup, the number is centered in Orlando. weird...huh? something is definitely fishy about that.

I received a voice mail from this number today stating it was "an attempt to collect a debt".  I don't owe anyone any money and my number they called was my cell phone which is less than a year old!  I tried to call back twice and kept getting passed to someone's voice mail.  And when I saw I had missed the call my missed call log said '3'.  The message said he was 'Jose Curtis' or something like that.

I think it is a legit company, I got a call but it was for the wrong person (other companies have called for this person before)

got 2 phone calls from this number reporting i got collection account. i called back and spoke with "Terry Rease" and was reassured it won't happend again. that happed after 1st call and i'm worried that it is some sort of scam after i googled this number and read other people responses.

Same thing here.  Review journal is a piece of crap.  I prepaid for a year subscription.  Did not renew and let it run out.  They continued to deliver for a couple of months and now want me to pay for it.  WTF??

Received a collection call from 702-579-0325 X 279 Jose Flores.  This seems to be a genuine collection company.  I returned the call.  I spoke with Jose.  They were collecting for the Las Vegas Review Journal.  I do have a problem with the LVRJ.  We had newspaper service with the RJ.  We no longer wanted the newspaper and let the subscription expire.  The RJ claims that they continued to deliver newspapers after the subscription expired.  We never asked them to do this.  The LVRJ is collecting for something we never ordered or wanted.  I'd love to deliver my own newspaper to the LVRJ and try to collect on it even though they never ordered it or wanted it.

I got a similar call and was so happy to see these postings on Google. Thank you. I am writing you because it seems you have a lot of knowledge regarding email because of what you wrote about Spam. For instance, I wouldn't know how to do that. I have a great yoga dvd and of course, one can look it up when they have the name of my website, but I don't know how to make it come up if someone does a Google search for yoga dvds. Do you know how to do that? If you do, would you be so kind as to tell me how?  I even googled how to do that, and it is not clear at all. I really would appreciate that. No worries if you don't know how or don't want to take the time to tell me. Thank you.

I also got a call from this number.  This was lady's voice who left me a message.  She sounded like African American who did not leave any extension or name but only phone number to call back.  She said, "this call was an attempt to collect the debt, any information collected here will be used for the that purpose." something like this. I know for sure that I don't owe any money to anybody.  There is no way that a collection agency would have to be calling me.  My suspicion is that I had stayed in Red Rock Hotel a few months ago.  Their office is in a walking distance from there.  It seems like these guys have contact with somebody in Hotel and they are trying to do some ID theft business.  Otherwise, collection agency specifies your name, file or case number when they leave the message.  There was no name, no extension and no case/file number, nothing.  I am going to file a complaint with FBI and BBB.

This is a legit company. I received calls like the above and when I returned the call I had an old bill that I had overlooked for years. The rep. (John Stone?) was very nice and made dealing with a collection agency a very professional experience.  I was expecting them to be rude and judgmental, but found him, at least, to be very understanding and accommodating. I think at times they have to be intentionally ambiguous as a matter of privacy and it makes us all a bit suspicious.  Give them a call or check their reputation on the BBB. In an industry full of scumbags and scammers, they seem to be genuine.

They called me with this voicemail that I could barlely understand because the guy mumbled through the whole thing.  So I called twice and when I began to complain on both occasions all of a sudden they could no longer here and were quick to hang up.  I have no credit cards and the only debt I owe is to my college education which I don't even have to pay back yet.  I'd beware on this one.

Got call scott meyer cbc they called me xxx Sr. lol.. i wonder who the junior is then.. I dont owe anything that i know of and they arent getting any if i do owe ill pay company direct if that ever happens.. i hate collection agencies they are corrupt jack***es

Got a letter and tried to call only got voicemail. That's wierd for someone trying to collect money. Turns out the Review Journal is trying to collect 21.13 I signed a one year contracy for the paper and was not home the following month and they kept delivering the paper. Now they want me to pay for it. I'm tired of companies and there little extortion games.I have a business, I don't keep showing up to work at someone's house past the contract date and demand to be paid.

I have also received a call from this company and have not called them back. All I get is a VM recording when they call and don?t say who they need to contact. After some research on the net I found this http://www.cbcnv.com/html/collcontact.htm. The extension they want me to call is 289 for a Jerri Johnson.  I know that I do not owe anything to anyone. Considering that I am against credit cards or anything like it.
I will call and harass them as well I love doing that to people like this and well since they show their email addresses I will make sure they get a crap load of SPAM as well about 200 - 300 per day.

Received a voice mail call from this number.  Caller ID showed up as 3.  The voice mail message stated that I owed money and they were calling to collect.  I have high credit rating (excellent) and I am current with all my accounts.  They did leave this number to call back.  When I returned call I informed them that no one by the last name ever lived here or had this number for the last 6 years.  The woman indicated that they would remove the phone number from their files------that was it.  Great collection agency not only did they not have their facts they totally believed what I told them--which is the truth however how did they know!!!  Will be reviewing future phone bills very closely for awhile.  Sounds all fishy to me.

I got a call today from same # with ext. 279, but being the cynical type, I did my research and thanks to these postings, I am wise to the call now.  I have not called back yet, but when I do, I'll be more cautious as to what information I provide.  When Jose called (I couldn't make out his last name) he did not mention the name of the company either.  When I quickly dialed to see if someone would identify themselves, I did not get that either.  Thanks to all of you who post here.  Good luck.

Same deal as above.  I got a call from a John Snow at Credit Bureau Central saying they wanted to collect a debt.  They don't ask for anyone by name, which is more than a little suspicious to me.  I called back to extension 290 and got a voicemail recording.  

My credit is clean and I'm not outstanding on any debts.  Be careful how much information you give these guys and don't let them pressure you on anything.  If it's a legitimate collection agency, they have to notify you by mail that they are attempting to collect a debt.

Got a call from a woman at the same number ext 284??  I am also sure that I don't owe anybody right now.  It also just rang and rang when I tried to call back.

Hi, I got a call from that same guy. I called back and when I told the operator his extension (295), it rang and rang and then went to voicemail. I'm pretty sure I don't owe anyone right now. Did you ever call back or find out what it was regarding?

I got a call from a Mr Chris Parker at this number from Credit Bureau Central with "an attempt to collect a debt."
