I can verify this check will not clear and it is indeed a scam.

Area code 702 is Las Vegas. If you do not live in the State of Nevada, this is very suspicious. There is a very high chance the check is NOT certified, but  phony. It can take 6 - 8 weeks for a check to clear your bank. Yes, even in the 21st century. Usually the Bank name, & address are good, but the transit number is fake. If you think that this person may be real (which I doubt) just text them "I won't be able to ship your piano, or have it picked up, for 8 weeks until your check clears". Watch what happens next. Taking the check to your bank, & not depositing it, they can tell you if it's real. I would use caution on giving out your name, & address. Craigslist, & Kijiji scams are very common.

I listed a piano for sale on Craigslist. A person at phone number 702-747-3340 texted me immediately indicating they wanted to purchase my piano at full cost, will send certified check UPS plus the cost to have the piano shipped to them. I am cautious with with offer and am trying to make sure if this is a scam. I tried finding this cell phone number on White Pages, reverse number, and they could not identify an owner.
