If you want to know if this is real or not, read the following press release from the FTC. It tells you what you need to know  in order to tell the difference between a legitimate vs. a scam debt collector:

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

Debt Collector
I just got a call from this number, actually, they called me back from 702 830 9804, the investigator said his name was Jeffrey Williams.  He called back because I called the number to ask for the address there, of course, he didn't give it to me, said he was forwarding my information to my County's warrant division, and that I was going to be arrested within the next few hours, because He had an affadavit of fraud on his desk that was filed against me for some checks that he said was written to a check cashing place back in 2007, but he never said the amount.   I told him I would wait for whomever was coming to arrest me, but i wasn't paying anything.  He called me back and said he had received a call from the warrant division here in my county, stating that I want to make restitution, I told him, I didn't know what he was talking about and not to call my phone again.
What puzzles me is, when I spoke to the person from the supposedly warrant division, this guy said his name was Brandon Leonard, and it was an actual phone exchange 301 298 4000, and it's from the area that I live in.  I don't know if this is real or not, should I really be concerned?

Prank Call
This is a FRAUD.

The name of the company is supposedly Warrant Services Association - and get this little gem - they call this a "Division of the Federal Government Tax Force".    Yeah, I had to roll on the FN floor over that one.    I guess when you have to lie, the bigger- the better rule applies.

This is a spoofed number.   It has a basic voice mail system attached to it, and when I started leaving this turd a few messages, I noticed that he was going in right away and listening to them, but he would not answer the phone because my number was blocked - imagine that?  Afraid to answer the phone because it might actually be the LAW on the other end.

They did get creative in setting up their voice mail, it sounds good, but when you listen to it a couple of times you realize exactly HOW fake it really is.   It has 3 options to choose from, yet they ALL roll to the very same line (ext. 201) and they ALL have exactly the same message on them.    When you try to press "0" to get the main menu or general mail box, it tells you that all circuits are busy and to try your call again later!?!   Oops!!   FAKE - FAKE - FAKE!!!

I call BOGUS on this one!!

On Thursday, 11/14/2013, around 11:38 am, a parallegal named Thomas Bell from WSA firm called my number and said an affidavit of fraud was filed under my name and social in their office causing my license to be suspended. Failure to respond will lead to criminal charges against me. He left a call back number of 702-830-9803 extension 140.

Affidavits are filed in courts in support of cases. Not firms. I know I have no history of fraud. I have claimed and paid all my debts up to current. When I looked up the number it came back to the state of Nevada. When I looked up the firm the only companies of relevance were a criminal solicitor law firm (WSA Law) in Scotland  and a closed parallegal service  (WSA parallegal services)in Miami, Florida with a disconnected number.

I believe this company is prodding for information to commit fraud themselves.
