any info?

Just received a call from 702-949-9820.  I answered after the second ring at which time they hung up.  I recognized the area code as being in Las Vegas.  We were just recently married there and was very curious as to why I would get a call from there.  I googled the phone number and read the note as directed.  I am reporting this as was suggested.

Had message from a "Bobby" stating that he had some records to send to us from the Nevada Records Office and to call back as soon as possible. Caller sounded a little sketchy....googled number...found this posting.... LOVE GOOGLE! Suspicion confirmed!! We live in CA and have never been to Nevada. Tried reverse phone lookup, number unlisted.

exact same thing when i called them back. my father in law got married in laughlin last weekend but they repeated their info when i gave the last name. i think what they are doing is offering faster receipt of your documents rather than waiting....for a fee of course. not a total scam but enough of one to call it a scam. probably just another way for nevada to make more money.  still beware.

This is a scam. My wife fell for it when I was at work. Do the right thing and follow the instructions that the County Clerk gives you.

My husband and I got married in Las Vegas on May 18, 2010 and receive a call when we came home on his mother's telephone number...that's weird because we are not using the number but my husband contacted the guy back on May 21, 2010 as he leave a phone number so he say yes and gave his debit card number..it cost $69 dollars. After that we realized that it seems fishy. So I search the net and found this site and we where really thinking the we are being fooled...but in this day a pink envelope arrive with our wedding certificate...So that guy is the middle man and he is legitimate..It cost much but its reasonable because we need the document ASAP...and it only takes 3 days to do that...and there are also lot of mails I receive from the fixers...and it takes several days to have it..so i guess this guy is fine^^..i hope this help

Got the same call 5/17/10 on a phone # that I haven't had for 5 years, but that a relative still has.

The exact same thing happened to us just now, exactly as you described.  The guy just sounded fishy to me, talked too fast, if you get my drift.  After I told him "no" (because I had remembered the certified copies were something like $15, not the $69 he said it would cost), I googled the # and immediately your post came up.

my husband & I just got married on May 8th 2010. Just yesterday on May 11th we received a messaged on our house phone from a guy stating he was from "Recorded Documents" of Las Vegas Nevada. Sketchy thing #1... We NEVER listed our house phone on any of our marriage documents... So how did they get our home phone # that we dont even use?! #2 My husband called the # back 702-949-9820 & he left a mgs on their machine to call him back on his cell phone. They called back right away. The guy stated that everything has been filed & if we wanted to order our certificate from him so that we would get it faster. Luckily my husband was driving on his way to work & said he would call back. My husband then called me & asked what number was listed for the county clerks office... he called county clerk & they were still closed at 7AM & this "recorded documents" was open this early? Makes no sense. This is a scam. Please be aware & just follow the procedure on the pink paper they gave you. One more thing... I did notice I was receiving a bunch of "unknown caller" on my cellphone since Tues but I never pick those calls up.
