Called relatives from my facebook list claiming it was a civil suit (which would be unethical to tell them), trying to get more info about me WITHOUT CALLING ME MYSELF, because relatives more quickly spill personal details. I have no debt, so it is bs. Moreover, if it were really a civil suit why not just file it (why call all of my relatives instead)? FTC (Federal Trade Commission) rep on the phone told me DON'T ENGAGE HER IN CONVERSATION. She also calls from a number of 703-738-9063 which the FTC says may be a "spoof" number from an offshore caller. BEWARE CONVERSING... JUST HANG UP!!! The FTC says: RESIST THE TEMPTATION TO TRY TO REASON WITH SUCH CALLERS!!

I'm glad I looked up this Michelle Silver from CPI. This woman should not get away withe the tricks she pulls trying to intimidate third party relatives for unknown matters of a family member. It's very disturbing that she left a message on my work cell phone. Clearly she searched my name because it was on an application of a related creditor as a relative, not the creditor or someone who consented to my name be put on any application. But to call my work cell after leaving a message with me at home is outrageous to me. Pleas be aware of this woman with no boundaries and an indiviudual who gives herself permission to harass.

I received a call from them several times. They are always very panic stricken with their voices.

If you received a call from them and DO NOT give them ANY information, don't even to confirm your full name or even call them back for that matter. If they claim you owe debt then check out your free (by law in US) credit report. All debt you owe will show up there. Then call that specific bank that you had a account with. So dont call Bob Lablaw, call Bank of America and inquire from them - if you owe debt, ask if you can pay directly to them, it's safer.

Contacting family members, being very rude, demanding info from them

this woman has called my brother in law, and a different brother in law's mother about me. they let me know and when i called her back i left a message to not call any of my relatives ever! and if she wanted to speak with me, to call me. also stated my phone# is in the book. found this web page, and i called her phone # back, and left a message to never call me or family again, as i was reporting her to FTC. I am mad about this, and I am ready for her to call me back. I have my mean on now!

I missed a call from an unavailable number from a lady by the name of Melissa. She left me a message on my cell phone for me or my fiance that I needed to call Mr. Bartley at 703-596-4950, for this was a very SERIOUS MATTER and ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL that I call. She gave me a case # and said that it was about to go into probation. I don't have any cases and I'm not in any trouble, and why would a company ask for me or my fiance, so this alarmed me right away. After they called my cell phone, they immediately called my house phone. I googled the phone number and it turns out this number is a scam and has numerous reports of the same type phone call and scam. I hope someone investigates this and takes action. This is a crime.

Same company called back, same person ( voice)different name & number but called both several times. Now the name is Latoya Hait.  Gave her an earful and said that now that they'd called back I was reporting to FTC. She yelled at me to chill out, I was harassing her and she would report me! Moron low life. I don't even owe anything, their trying to track down my ex.

Thanks for posting this ..... I found out that these people are just scam artists. They somehow get their names from people who have had credit issues in the past even if those issues have been resolved..... watch out and ask them to put you on their don't call list.... if they don't then you can file a FTC complaint.

This is obviously a collection agency. This Michelle Silver left a message for my ex-husband about a "case", needing a statement.  I left a voicemail back telling her that I have no contact with him, we've been divorced for years, and the all important words "DO NOT CALL", if any further calls were received she would be reported.  If you do not say that, they will keep calling.  If you specifically say "DO NOT CALL ME" they will be breaking the law if they continue to call.  
The problem is that now they have my number linked with his name, the collection account will eventually be sold and the next company will call me.  I've been down THIS road before.  Never marry a deadbeat!

A woman by the name of Michelle Silva left me a voicemail stating she needed to take a statement from me immediately, when I called her back she stated she was a debt collector and that some unknown to me company was going to obtain a judgement against me. I simply advised her that she had the wrong # and to please not call me again, she did say she would take my # off her call list. I reported her call to the FTC.

Well its a good thing there is such a thing called karma, because Michelle Silvers will get what she has coming times many!

The same thing happened to me yesterday and then today.  I reported her to the FTC.  You should do the same thing.  She told me if I didn't pay then they WOULD JUST COME AND TAKE THE MONEY!
The number to file a complaint is 877 382 4357.  
The FTC professional told me not to give her any financial or personal information over the phone and that the characteristics i described to her made her believe that this is a scam.

This was wonderful. It made my day.  This person called asking for my mother who passed away 3 years ago.  Hopefully next time I can answer my phone to give her loud transvestite sounding a** an earful!

Michelle Silver called and began to bully me about a so called "debit" i owe.  claims it is from a credit card company from 2007.  i am certain this is not legit, but she is threatening court action and offered me a settlement.  i have done research and believe this to be junk debt buyer who try to scare people into giving them their banking info.  She is very rude and will be reported.  Does this sound familiar to anyone else?

Same here. Michelle Silvers called and left a message with a case # demanding that some person (with another name) call her immediately. I called back but could only leave a message -- informed her there was no person here with that name. Sounds like some wacked out fruitcake.

I received that phone call today.I just want to know if it is a legit company or scamming people out of money? Some of the things said were sort of strange.

Today I received a call on my answering machine [I was screening the call on my caller ID] from Michelle Silvers stating that she needed to speak with Joe ? [could not make out the last name] She said a statement from him and she needed to speak with him immediately regarding a case in East Haven, CT.

Later I thought it might be something important and she dialed my number in error.
An answering machine picked up stating it was Michelle Silvers CVI or CPI

Michelle Silver called my phone today looking for my adult son. I don't typically answer calls from numbers I don't recognize so she left a message for my son. She stated she needed to have him call to make a statement regarding a case that had been transfered from the state we reside in to Virginia. My son is not involved in any cases.

I just received a call from this number, from a woman named Melissa, working for Attorney, Bartley Jones. Company name AB claims. She was asking for my husband. As I kept asking her question she started to get a little irritated and said "I don't know what it's about, he will just need to call back and speak to the attorney."  I had a gut feeling (holy spirit nudged me) to look up this number, and I also called back and the voice said "Michelle Silver fro CPI" sounds fishy to me.  Do you think?

I received a call from this number twice over the last couple of weeks.  It was about a former relative-in-law, whom I have not seen for over 13 years.  The message a woman left mentioned a couple of names, but after 5 or 6 times of listening to the message, I still could not make out what her name was or who needed to be contacted.  The only clear thing that she said was the call back number.  From all of this I am concluding that it is definitely a scam of some kind.  NOT calling back her, just going to ignore, unless the calls get too frequent, and then will report it.

He called n gave me the message n i tried callin back from one of our xtra prepay phones n of ckjrse no answer..it rang 3 times and went to silence..who r these people and wat kind kf info are they wanting frkm us?! I called this number back after Michelle Silver left a message with my mother in law. It is a company called Core Processing or CPI. I spoke directly to Michelle, she was rude, called me a p.o.s dirtbag, and told me she was going to come to my house wearing a black mask and beat my head in with a crowbar. She is not a professional debt collector and I highly recommend that if you do get a call from her, report it to the Federal Trade Commission or contact a lawyer for advice. I reported her to the FTC and they called me back stating that it was a scam and to not give her any financial information. So there you have it. Don't fall for any tricky scam of hers and don't let her intimidate you.

She called me, then hung up when I answered.  I dialed back three times, but the line kept clicking then hanging up.I called back once more and got voicemail with the same name...Michelle Silver...left her a message asking why she was calling me.  No response...

We received a call from Michelle Silver on our answer machine.  She was looking for our daughter's mother-in-law.  Miss. Silver left her name, number and gave a case number, but not an agency or business name (suspicious!).  
I passed the information along to my daughter, they had no clue what it was all about.  We think it must be some type of scam to get information.

Recieved a message from a Michele Silver.... After she had called all of my extended family my wife attempted to call her to find out what this was about.... She was verbally abusive and hung up on her and then when I called back she threated to call the police for us harrasing her??????? I finally got through to her supervisor who tried to verify my identity and guess what... They had the wrong person. They are phishing for info.... Do not give them any information.......
