This number tried to reach me at 4:47pm PST 12/09/08. Left no message. Scam? Computer call? Legit call? I didn't contact anyone in Virginia's bankruptcy court.

I had a missed call on my cell phone from this number on 03/11/2009.  I'm glad I didn't pick it up.  They did not leave a voicemail.

I have received a phone call from the same number and the caller repeated my name. The call was that I had been approved for $3500.00 unsecured and no credit check. The caller who was female wanted to know if I wanted the card. I told her to give me her phone number and I would call her back with my decision and she quickly stated that she did not have an extension number and would call me on the next day. I have caller ID and will let the call go to my voice mail if the call is made.

Just got a call from that number, punched it into google and this site came up. Weird a Virginia number would call me, especially talking about credit cards and bankruptcy, I live in Arizona. Called about 12:42 Mountain.

I do not believe that a judge from Virginia would be calling me directly as I live in Colorado and have never filed for Bankruptcy.
This should be reported to the Secret Service as I believe they handle bank fraud.

I just received a call from 703-857-2391 on my cell phone on 2/23/09 @ 12:52pm.  Why are these people calling my cell phone.  I answered, said hello twice, then hung up after no reply from the caller.

My mother just got a call from this exact number on her unlisted cell phone, which only certain family members have and her bonafide banking institutions.  The lady asked for her by name and was claiming to be from some business.  My mother was smart and lied to the lady that she must have had the wrong number because she didn't know who she (the scam lady) was asking for.
My mother then called me, and told me everything.  The lady was fishing for information, but with many errors in her speech and questioning.

Company called, knew my first name but could not explain intelligently what they wanted

I got a call from this number. It was a woman with a foreign accent also. I couldn't hear her and so i hung up. She didn't call back, so i assume it wasn't an important call.

Called me to offer an unsecured credit line of $1500.  Sounded like she was reading from a script and had an Indian(???) accent.  She asked me to verify my personal info at which point I told her that I would not.  I then hung up.

Got a call on my cell, I'm on the do not call registry, I don't have a land line.  I'm carrying around my phone waiting for an important call and get this crap - this is so frustrating.

I too received a call this morning  from 1-703-857-2391, offering a credit card.  I told her she had the wrong number, she verified my phone number and I told her it was correct, but that she had the wrong party.  I told her in a firm voice not to ever call me again.  I live in Texas.

PS:  It was the same lady as described before with an accent

I just received call from 7038572391;  woman with accent asked for someone but was not my name;  I told her she had the wrong number;  she said whoever was the owner of my cell phone number was pre-approved for a 0% interest credit card;  I said I was not interested and she asked why and I told her I already had a credit card;  after a few more questions questions from her and "no thanks" answers from me she thanked me and hung up;  I am also on do not call list

They called me today on my cell, I did not understand about half of what she was saying,NOT A USA person so i hungup. i called VA. sherriff in loudoun co.1-703-777-1021, she was not amercian either. she told me to call my co. sherriff and hungup so they don"t care either.  I  think it is a scam of some kind ....

I just got a call on my cell phone.  The said the name so fast, I called the number back and it was Star Tech which is a long distance service.  I guess they are trying to get you to sign up for their long distance service.  When I called their customer service # 800-827-3374, I spoke with Dan and he indicated that there was no account for my number.

I received a call from this number asking me to give away some personal information to get a $3500 0% interest platinum credit card.  I told them I wasn't interested, and they were pretty insistent so I just told them I don't need the card and I'm not giving them my information.

As someone else here said, it was a woman with a thick accent but I can't identify the accent.  In the background I heard a lot of noise, like it sounded that she was in a big very crowded room.

They called on my mobile number, and somehow they knew my name.

If you call the number back you'll reach a recording from a company called "Star Tech" that prompts you for personal information. If you go through the routine (which I did), it will authorize them to change your long distance phone service. I use Skype so there was no risk for me.

I had the exact same experience - children in the background and a woman with a heavy foreign accent.

I got a call on my cell phone today from this number as a solicitation for a credit card.  They first asked me if this was a businees number.  When I said no, they continued with an offer for a credit card with a credit line of $3000.

FEMALE WITH HEAVY ACCENT, SAID MY NAME  AND LAST NAME. I ASKED WHO IS THIS? WITHOUT SAYING WHO THYE WERE OR WERE THEY WERE CALLING FROM, JUMPED TO SAY I HAD BEEN APPROVED FOR AN UNSECURED $3500 PLATINUM VISA.. TERMINATED CALL RIGHT AWAY..

Caller called my cell phone at 10:15 am. Foreign voice asked me if this is a business phone and I replied yes and she said wrong number.

Called at 4:47; I didn't hear all of it but they had mentioned something about credit.

As others have said in previous posts, had to say 'Hello' several times before someone answered, and there was a considerable amount of noice in the background, suggesting a call center.

Said that the people who own my home phone number qualify for a platinum online credit card. Can only be used for online purchases. Has a starting credit limit of $3500, and $1500 cash advance. No interest charged, even if only making minimum payments.

When I told her I was on the state and national Do Not Call registry, she became apologetic immediately and said she was removing my phone number from her list.

I too just received this call from 703 857-2391 at 3:34 pm Pacific time and I didn't pick up my cell. The number is for a Bankruptcy court Judge ..The Honorable. William Stone, Jr.

Maybe someone needs to call this guy at his home and tell him his Old cell numbers being used to phish.

I got a call from this # at 6 pm tonight - I was not home and there was no message.  I plugged the # into a search engine and found this site.  I jsut tried to call it back and it will only say please enter your rep # and it repeated it three times and then said there was an error and hung up on me.  I am also on a DO NOT CALL list but apparently it is not working.  This is extremely irritating.

I did a little moor research and found ouy this is a land line by MCI metro,ATS in Waterford Va. Loudoun County. I think we all should call the Loudoun county sherif.

This number called me tonight at 5:47 PM eastern standard time 12/27/2008 and said they were offering me a 3500.00 dollar unsecured credit card and needed some personal information so they could prosses my card. I could here small children in the background speaking in a foren language and the woman on the phone had a heavey axcent. I sais NO they were insistiant that I give them my information. I hung up on them. I have no doubt they were trying to steel my idenity.

Like Ervin.. it was a credit card offer for $3500.. the person could prounce Bob.. but had trouble with last name.. Rule at my house.. if I can't understand you.. you are gone.. bub..bye..
