I got the same voice mail call from this number. He said his name was Ricardo Vargas and he got my resume from an online website. He was offering an opportunity to interview for a career position in his financial services company. Although he didn't give its name, further investigation showed he was probably recruiting for Primerica Financial Services--He's likely just building his own franchise within the company.

Same story.  "We haven't had a chance to meet in person yet.  My name is Ricardo Vargas and your information was passed to me as someone who might be a good fit for my company.  Call me at 703-869-5233."   I'm sure he's just a sales guy wanting to recruit more sales guys ... BUT I "AIN"T" IN SALES!!!

I got the same call, but he said his name so fast.  I did catch the last name as Vargas...  He left a voicemail saying that someone sent him my contact information and that he had possible position with his company.
1.  Most people identify themselves and their company name
2.  Most employers that call back say the position and where your information was forwarded from.

Everyone please be aware of scams when applying for jobs.  This is the third scam I have received.

Matt Peterson at 703-577-6204 called me and tells me he's got a job for me. I kept asking what company he was calling from because I haven't applied for any jobs in the past 5 months. He wouldn't tell me the name of the company because ONE DOESN'T EXIST. And then he tells me that I was "recommended" to him by "somebody". Waste of my time and minutes. I have been fooled by someone like this before. They are a no-name life suckers who contract with big companies to sell their policies , hire you and pay you nothing, waste your time and pocket a nice percentage from your sales. Basically they are the middle man taking a cut for free. You will be a sales man for them knocking on the doors trying to sell life insurance. You will walk around in heat and cold and not make a penny. Nobody likes to buy insurance from some random guy who knocks on their door. Everybody just calls the company directly.

I received a phone call from this guy, immediately hung up the phone. Tried calling him back, he wouldn't answer but could only understand his first name on his voicemail. I find it interesting that many people are receiving calls from this person.

In an unstable job market and economy, why wouldn't you at least try the opportunity where you can make your own income? Instead of someone else dictating you how much you make....not a sermon, just a thought.

Any company that makes cold calls to enough people to have this many complaints online in order to find employees is obviously a scam.  Otherwise, they could put up a job posting and have qualified applicants come to them.  Why would you pay someone to cold call potential employees in this economy?  Secondly, why would someone not be qualified for a job simply because they are unemployed?  That's just ridiculous.  And, if that was the case, why would someone spend time calling people whose resumes clearly indicate that they are currently unemployed?  Do you think maybe its because scammers like to prey on the desperate?  I'm guessing Blogger 919 either "works" for this "company" or is too stupid to spell probably.

Got a call from both of these and went in for an interview, not a scam, but wasn't my line of work. it's heavily regulated company- not a pyramid. It's a lucrative income opportunity and for anyone who is unemployed like these stupid bloggers-they wouldn't qualify if they wanted to work there, and a pyramid scheme is probable exactly what they need!

When he called me I was skeptical however I was open-minded enough to come in for an interview at which I'm happily working in a stable career. Background checks are required as it is a federally regulated company-some scam that must be-lol!! All the other computer geeks can sit and blog about things they don't know about, after all... when you are still unemployed, what else more is there to do?!

be on the look out for a Matt Peterson at 703-577-6204 who is not only aggressive in his phone calls but his demeanor to try to sell you these services is outright bull crap. Like Ricardo, emasculate him on the phone and he breaks character. Be weary of these cons, them and Prudential and all of the others that lure you in and try to sucker your time and efforts away to try to be "wealthy beyond your wildest dreams."

I just received a voicemail from this "Ricardo" and I'm sure glad I looked up the number online before calling him back.  It was odd because I could barely make out his name let alone number due to a very poor voicemail.  After reading the above comments I will be sure to NOT call him back!  Thank you to everyone for posting about this number to make us aware of this scammer.

Ricardo Vargas -
He's a con artist working for a pyramid scheme company and he has poor phone etiquette. If you receive this phone call from him, politely emasculate him by giving him a proverbial up yours and this will agitate him to lose his composure over the phone and ridicule you. It's quite funny because this ingrate can't find a more reasonable means of living and he thinks you're stupid enough to fall for his cold call tactics.
