I got this message as well and they new my name also and told me their android was going to die and add me on there yahoo messenger with textieflirter73....what the hell.....

I too received a message saying hi and my name, anybody can get anybody's number that's BS!!!

This also happened with me but from the number (435)363-1207 that is in Logan Utah leased out to LEVEL 3 COMMUNICATIONS, LLC - UT. The phone is a voip phone, and I assume they are running a wide scan of the internet sites like facebook and yahoo to get first names and phone numbers. These Voip phones have an IP address, so it's really just hiding where the texts are originally coming from. Not sure how they would scam you, and who would fall for it, but apparently it hasn't been happening for that long, I recommend everyone report it to the local police that the number comes from, though really this type of thing might be in FBI jurisdiction as it is in several states.

how does this happen? and where do they get my number AND  name? everything that has those two connected is set to the highest privacy settings. i don't understand

I too received a text from 704-323-7214. They KNEW MY NAME!!!! This is SPAM and NOT a REAL PERSON!!! Report it!

I searched the name "textieflirt" on yahoo and found out that I wasn't the only one receiving this message. If you search phone number "540-707-3628", "904-494-4527", or "951-356-1719" either on this site or www.callercenter.com you will see many other getting the same text. It is very uncomfortable having spammers using text messaging. I hope this problem will not escalate.

so i found this website because i got a text message from someone saying hello... they knew my name and told me to add them on Y! messenger and that their name was textierflirter0 ....they know my name and phone number ...should i be worry

I just the same message. Really creeped out that they have my name associated with my phone number. I'm genus sing some hacker scraped info off of Facebook or something. Creepy.

Text message from this number. Knew my name and said he hadn't heard from me awhile. When I asked who it was he told me that if I wanted to know I needed to add his number. So I googled it and found this website with other people saying they received the same messages from this number.

I got a creepy message including my name just now, too.  I guess I need to be careful about giving my number to websites-- any idea how they got it?
