I got this call on my Verizon cell phone. I just graduated college. I live with my parents right now and they also have my car in their name. I have no reason to owe taxes to Charlotte Mecklenburg. I do pay state and federal taxes every year. But those are completely different.

Call said we owe Mechlenburg county taxes.  Since I live in Raleigh and have no property in Charlotte, this must be a scam.

This is a CATS route supervisor. I made a complaint about a driver and she was returning my call

I got a call from this number a couple of days ago and it said we owe back taxes. Couldn't be, since we just moved to Charlotte from California and own no property and have no income taxable wages at this address from previous year..maybe is a scam.

Tried calling back but no ring. Got fishy about the call and called revenue department. They said my name is not there in delinquency list. Looks like same scam. Lady in revenue department said they dont have such number listed.

I go this call at work directly to my line. How could they get your direct number is that an invasion of privacy

they called and i pressed 0 and the line went dead.  i called 311 and i don't owe anything.  the rep said she's gotten calls like this before.

I also got this call,when replyed no asnwer..it ask me to press 0 to call 311...i dial no respose...is there way report ..i am using AT&T internet..I got 3 fraud billing from AT&T...i reported and they rollback the amount..but did not disclose details about the person...this is

Hello, Are you with AT&T? I am investigating this further as I believe privacy violations between phone companies and the Char-Meck government are occuring.

Any chance you're on AT&T? I'm with the media and am looking into AT&T providing information to the Char-Meck revenue dept.

I received the same message and called the tax office. They found, as I knew they would, no delinquent tax bills. My phone number, however, was linked to another person with the same last name and first initial who is delinquent. Check it out by calling 704-336-6322. They will make the correction.

Recieved the same sort of call about owing taxes.  Sounds like the Charlotte  better business people need to know about this.

I sent this to my voicemail when they called, and received a partial message indicating that I owed taxes and to check tax.charmeck.org.
