They've been calling at least twice a day for two weeks and do not leave a message.
The number belongs to a marketing company in Charlotte NC "Universal Circulation Marketing"  that specializes in retaining newspaper subscribers.  
I will continue to ignore.

I think they are bill collectors. If you call back from a different number, they  try and keep you on the line to trace the call, and give you some b***s*** story about trying to get you to subscribe to your local newspaper, which they have the name of. I've reported them to the do not call list.

I receive a couple of calls a day, no messages are ever left. It's the most annoying curiousiy imaginable!

Universal Circulation contracts with newspapers and calls people who drop subscriptions to try to get them to resubscribe.  If you want to get a better rate on your newspaper don't pay the bill when it comes due.  Within a couple weeks you will get a call from Universal Circu and can negotiate a better rate.  Also, an interesting note is that local newspapers don't fall within the law regarding telemarketers (the FCC Do No Call List) so they can call as often as they like as long it's before (I believe) 9PM.

After ignoring numerous calls from "universal circu"  I had a weak moment and picked up- actually I was tired of the multiple calls over several days.  The caller said the call was a "courtesy call" on behalf of our local paper and after mumbling jibberish, which I personally don't speak, I was instructed to get a pencil and paper so I could write some information down.  Oh pleeze... I don't write jibberish either.  When I politely requested she remove my name from their call list she said she wasn't a telemarketer and repeated that it was a courtesy call.  I hung up.  She immediately called back and repeated that it was a courtesy call (with a special offer!!)  I told her I wasn't in the market for any courtesy and firmly told her not to call again.

Called today at 1:30pm but left no message.

I get these calls daily on my cellphone, but never any messages.

For the past several weeks have received calls from this number several times per week.  I have been home all day today, and there have been two.  The name Harry Roseboro appears on the caller ID.  I do not answer the phone as I know no one by this name.  No message is ever left of my machine.
