I received a text message from x10900@nextel.com that stated the following
7046910382: Dear H&R Customer. Please call us at 704-691-0382
I am not, nor have I ever been a H&R Block customer so I decided to google the number before I tried texting or calling it back. I'm glad I did because it appears to be a scam. I figured I would make a post on here so that people were aware that these people have a new tactic that they are using.

Well, evidently they're trying something new. At 8:04 this morning I received a text message on my cell which reads "H & R Customer, please call us at 704-691-0382." Thinking that perhaps someone gave H & R Block a wrong/bad number or it was taken down wrong -- I am not an H&R Block customer, I called the number back. What I got was an electronic voice saying that my prepaid mastercard was locked and to press ?? to activate. Duh - I don't think so - I don't use or have any dealings with H & R Block, don't have an account with H & R Block Bank, and did not appy for a card from them. So I called H & R Block Bank's main # to make sure they don't have my number somewhere in their database --- waste of time! I had received a similar text message on 1-10-11 which reads "H&R Block Alert. Emerald Prepaid Mastercard locked. Please call 713-797-2036." This call came in at 9:47 p.m. I had received a text message prior to these 2, but deleted it, thinking it was just a telemarketer. My cell # as well as my home ph#'s have been on the National Do Not Call Registry ever since that was available. I did not see the number 713-797-2036 among the list submitted for an earlier poster, but there are complaints on that # also.

Received text messages from this number several times. Always deleted them. Now they have started again.Just block them, and if they call don't answer. They only have partial info and are looking to get the whole shebang from anyone they contact so they can steal your ID. I have noticed that this didn't start until I missed a couple payments on my Bank of America credit card. Anyone else have one of these? Could be a connection.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans
Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010 FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691
The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.
Some fraudsters have instructed victims to fax a statement agreeing to pay a certain amount, on a specific date, via a pre-paid Visa card. The statement further declares the victim will never dispute the debt.
If you receive these calls, do not follow the caller?s instructions. Rather, you should:
Notify your banking institutions.
Contact the three major credit bureaus and request an alert be put on your file.
Contact your local law enforcement agencies if you feel you are in immediate danger.
File a complaint at www.IC3.gov.
Tips to avoid becoming a victim of this scam:
Never give your Social Security number?or personal information of any kind?over the telephone or online unless you initiate the contact.
Be suspicious of any e-mail with urgent requests for personal financial information. The e-mail may include upsetting or exciting but false statements to get you to react immediately.
Avoid filling out forms in e-mail messages that request personal information.
Ensure that your browser is up-to-date and security patches have been applied.
Check your bank, credit, and debit card statements regularly to make sure that there are no unauthorized transactions. If anything looks suspicious, contact your bank and all card issuers.
When you contact companies, use numbers provided on the back of cards or statements

The are an international forefront operation with operations ghosted utilizing both east coast (704 area code) and west coast (503 area code) phone numbers. I have reported them to numerous federal agencies. Best guess is that they associate an alias (like "Frank") and victim area code to bring up victim name. I called them today and only gave them an Alias of "Frank" and they came back with my name. DO NOT DISCLOSE INFORMATION TO THEM! REPORT THEM TO EVERY FEDERAL AGENCY POSSIBLE. IF THEY CALL YOU, CHANGE YOUR BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION, ONLINE PASSWORDS, CANCEL DEBIT AND CREDIT CARDS AND ANY OTHER CRITICAL INFORMATION.

The same thing just happened to me. I received two of these phone calls at work and four at home. The last one I answered and just went off on them. I have already been through this before. Then the foreign idiot had the balls to call me back and told me to shut my mouth. Naturally, being Mexican, i started telling him off and went at it back and forth for about 3 minutes until he finally got tired and hung up. Don't let these mf's get to you...just fight back!!!!

Been calling my work for months now and my supervisor keeps telling them I am not allowed to talk to them. My "agent" is named Frank and when my supervisor asked for his supervisor's name he was given this number and "Jerry Ray" with a strong Indian accent answered and threatened us to make me call him back. When we scammed them back we were put on hold and left hanging.

So this 704-691-0382 number called me today (12/9/2011) and asked for my brother. They are rude and talk over you. Well I am so not the sitback and take it girl anymore. My phone died so i quickly plugged it in and they had already left me a message and as soon as my phone powered on they were already calling again. So I have called them over 14 times today. I will call them as many times as they call me. DO NOT LET THESE A** HOLES INTIMIDATE YOU!!!! call the little F'ers back and keep calling them telling them to take your number off their list. They probably won't and will probably call me in the middle of the night. Which is fine cause I suffer from insomnia and do not sleep anyways! LOL I am a paralegal and I am very professional but I can also get down with the worst of 'em like a Jerry Springer show. I told them to bring it on; well actually, I told them a lot worse then that but I would probably offend ALOT of people if I repeat it or I am gonna get hit by a bus on my home tonight... :)

This person has called our school more than 10 times a day and proceeds to yell at our office staff then tells us to shut up and hangs up the phone. Last time I checked, teachers don't leave a classroom with students in it. They are teaching. Very rude company.
