Definetly Duke Power...They are calling me due the to last person living at my address. They just just pull the service address & call the contact number for that active account. The lady I spoke with was nice & said she would remove my number from the calling list for him. Guess we will see if they stop or not...

Yeah, well, how about some of us lost our job due to our company downsizing, then lost our home and car because of it. I would pay my damn bill if I had the damn money and a damn job.

Before you start telling people to "Pay your damn bill", perhaps you should consider that even collection companies make mistakes. I'm getting calls for the last person who lived in my apartment. I don't know this person and they have been pretty nasty about it. It's not my freaking problem and I don't know how they got my number for his account or why they are calling me! They refuse to stop calling and said they would cut off my power and/or report it on my credit if I didn't pay, even though they don't seem to know my name or current address.

It's for Duke Power/ Duke Energy. They are collecting your final bill. I owe them like $14.67. Seems like a low amount, but all these bills translate into higher rates for everyone if you don't pay. Hard time means hard collection practices.
Like another poster said, PAY YOUR DAMN BILL.

Same here, they were calling for someone else I knew but they always refused to provide me with more details about the reason of the calls. The only thing I got from them was the name of the company: "New Concepts Financial Group."

I just called and its not really an (collection),collection acency. They was calling for Duke Power. Duke Power gives it to them to see if they can collect money in a few weeks and if they cant then Duke takes it back and gives it to the An Acency that gets nasty I guess. Before they charge it off. They only except $100 payments Not less than 100 bucks at a time . But you can pay Duke less by phone or by person. And then let them know you paid something with comfirmation number. And they can keep it before Duke takes it back. The guy I talk to was very nice. Even when I said I have no money at the moment. I told him it would a couple of weeks before I can do anything. But there was no garentee how long they would have my account.

Actually, this seems to be a collection agency. They are called New Concepts International (NCI, not MCI) and they are definitely based out of Concord, NC. I too had some trouble understanding their voicemails and they sure don't leave any sort of information in those messages.

In the voicemail they left me I couldnt understand the person's name and they didnt leave an explanation for why they called. When I called back and asked what they do, I was told they work on "projects." When I asked what kind, she refused to tell me until I gave her my phone number and first and last name. I hung up after that.

Have no idea who this is. They leave messages for someone else. They say this is a contact call.
