This company(US Digest) calls my elderly parents 2x a week trying to get them to renew a subscription for Consumer Reports. They still have 9 months left on their current subscription and always renew directly through CS.  I happend to be at home when US Digest called today requesting a credit card number from my 87 yr old mother, who has dementia.  Before she had the chance to give out her cc number I grabbed the phone and told the US Digest lady " I am god damn tired of your company calling my elderly parents trying to get them to renew a subscription that still has 9 months left".  The response from US Digest girl " don't cuss at me a-hole" and she hung up. I called the number back and told the receptionist my story, so now I'm on the NO CALL LIST!  Really; this is the 3rd time I have requested US Digest to cease calling my parents house.  I think the Attorney General of Florida needs to get involved and shut down these SCAMMERS!

US Digest LLC called and woke me up in the morning a couple of days ago telling me my subscription to The Week magazine was days away from running out and that I hadn't returned the renewal card that had been sent to me. I really like that magazine so I agreed to renew it. The gal talking to me already knew I'd used an Amex card for the last renewal and even told me what the correct last card number digit was. So, I agreed to a renewal. During the process she told me that I could cancel within ten days and could later transfer the subscription to another party if needed.

When I got my head together I looked at the label on a copy of The Week next to my bed and saw that the expiration date was almost three years away. I called the magazine and verified that. Since at my advanced age I don't even buy green bananas I figured I didn't feel any need to extend the subscription right now.

Yesterday I looked at my Amex account's "recent charges" online and saw that US Digest LLC had charged my card more than I could have purchased the same subscription extension directly from The Week magazine.

I called US Digest LLC and told them to cancel the subscription, and they agreed to do so. Today, when I looked at my Amex account online, there was a full credit issued by them.

I guess I got lucky on that one, and even though they now have my Amex card number, so do a zillion other places I've done business with. Since I monitor my "recent charges" with Amex online at least once a week I'll spot any funny business in time to quell it.

This company is calling my 91 year old, almost deaf father trying to sell him things. Somehow they got him to give them a credit card number over the phone. Very smooth and unscrupulous.

My dementia client got a call from a man named Jeff, telling her she needed to renew her Newsweek Subscription. Before I could stop her she gave him her Visa number to pay for a very over priced renewal, but the Billing address had been chgd to her son's house so the charge did not go thru. The called ID showed  "Pro Player Time", when he called back trying to get the Billing address I told him not to call again. Today, 3 days later, under a caller ID of "Senior care ALR" Jeff called again, trying to get the Billing address. Im reporting this company to my state attorney general as a "senior predator company".

We have been receiving calls from this number and I attempted to call it back and it went to a fax machine.  Not to be outdone, I created a 2 page document in word, save it and then requested it be printed.   I choose the FAX option and sent the document to their fax machine.    This time it was 3 pages, a cover page and the same message on 2 pages -  DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER, THANKS in large print.

I've had experience with these people and almost ended up paying their ridiculous fees.  They are out and out crooks with a totally phony line about the Readers Digest subscription doubling.  My card company reversed their charges.  I also called Readers Digest itself and they said they never never do business that way, and it was indeed phony.  I put them on the donotcall.gov and that worked for a while, but got another call recently.  They are phony as a three dollar bill.

Received phone call from this number 2 Feb 12.  Caller wanted me to renew National Geographic before next year's rate change ("$79.00"); said I could pay "$59."  Wanted my VISA card number,  starting with "4."  He said I had used this number before in renewing (not true).  When I kept telling him "no," he persisted.  When I threatened to report him to National Geographic , he put his "supervisor" (whose voice sounded the same as his) on the phone.  "Supervisor" kept persisting; I finally had to hang up.   When I checked  the number on reverse call, it gave St. Petersberg, FL as the location.

I have gotten calls from this number for literally years and years.  I continually tell them that no one lives, or as ever lived at this number for the 12 years I have had it.  I have asked to be taken off their list 100 times and yet, they continue calling.

If they do ask what you subscribe to, why not make up a magazine so you can track them?

Got a call from this number back in October and again in December.  It associated with Publishers Marketing Services in Pinellas, FL.  They can be reached at (866) 221-7444.  I am part of the Colorado No Call list and despite this they continue to call.  I also let them know I do not appreciate their calls and have asked numerous times to be removed from their call list.  It took me three calls to verify their address, and the phone number was associated with their company.  The first two calls I got hung up on.  I also filed a complaint with the Colorado No Call list online.  If you get a call from this number give them a CALL BACK!!!!

I guess I got a lazy one.  After I told her I never had a National Geographic subscription, she didn't bother running the list of alternates; she just asked what I do subscribe to.

What they count on you not knowing is that all Visa card numbers begin with a 4.

If you act like you're going to fall for the scam, they'll wait a LONG time for you to get the card.  ;)

After I toyed with them for a while, I finally called them on the scam.  The woman was really nice about it though - she even thanked me for the "epic waste of time"!

We've finally had it with this particular scammer.  I don't know what they are up to, but it's not good, and they bother us way too often.  I made a mark on my calendar six months ago when I asked them to take my number off their list and stop calling.  They said they would ( "it will take time to get the request into our system..."), and they've been calling steadily ever since. They called this morning.  Their spiel changes - always bogus, some magazine or other whose subscription needs attention - they need to update my credit card info.  When I say we don't get that magazine, never did, then do I subscribe to another magazine within that family of magazines?  Of it's a coding error? Oops, they were looking at the wrong screen....

I've complained about them so many times that on the Do Not Call complaint form their number auto-fills itself into the box. Today I filed a formal complaint against them with the FCC. If you wish to complain too, just keep track of a time and date they have called, and google FCC complaint to get the form, which you can submit online.
