A lady calling and asking for an old employee who left 3 years ago. She said she will make a note and hung up.  Never said who she was or who she is with.

They say they want to renew a subscription to a magazine.  None of the magazine names that they listed and said I had a subscription for were true.

The guy called our office. He was really rude and asked for a lady in the office. When I told him that she was unavailable and asked if I could take a message he asked for her again, so I asked who was calling and he said, "That's not what I asked you, young lady, when will she be in?" I let him know that I would tell him nothing until he told me who he was and he hung up. We *69'ed the number and it went to City Business Journal, apparantly our subscription is about to expire. Really? Was it necessary to be that rude?

bizjournals.com .  This is a telephone number for The Business Journals, a media group that sells weekly business-related newspapers to major metro areas around the USA, such as Portland BizJournal, and Atlanta BizJournal, etc.  In my case, they have called more than a dozen times pushing to have me renew my one-year subscription to the service.

seemed to be a valid call. We already subscribe to a local business journal and the call was to renew. He was very polite and had all my account information on hand.

I get a call every 2 days when I am not home. They leave a voice message saying that my subscription to the Cincinnati Business Courier is about to expire. One guy said he was calling from the Corporate Office with a very special rate. All others were from female callers. Each left their direct-access 800/866/877 number. And, yes, my subscription is about to expire.

Nice-enough female called and asked for my boss by his first name only. He's out today so she left him a voicemail. I looked up ACBJ and I believe it stands for American City Business Journal. My best guess is it's just a routine cold call to get businesses to subscribe to, or advertise in, the American City Business Journal. Good to see so many listings here. Thanks everyone!

got the same situation. the guy was a jerk and just hung up on me.  I am also on the national do not call list, so this is illegal.

ACBJ - 704-973-1768 - Caller said his name was Eric Hanson and wanted to speak with my boss.  When I told him he was not in the office could I take his number and have him return his call he became very defensive and I could tell he just wanted to get off the phone with me.  I kept asking information about him and his company and he said, I'll call him at a later time and hung up.

I got it wrong above.  I already renewed my gift subscription through magazines.com.  The call was directly from NASCAR magazine wanting me to renew it.  And their callback number is 866-815-4892

I order NASCAR for my father-in-law.  I already renewed online over a week ago; however, they also called me today to ask if I want to renew?  Their online group must not correspond with their caller group.

Yes, Lacross Magazine renewal is another reason they might try to call you. My son keeps getting calls for expired subscription asking to renew, and having special deals?? :)

American City Business Journals.  They are the central location for a lot of the business journals throughout the country.  They just want to sell or renew subscriptions.

This is Nascar Scene calling to find out if you want to renew.  Not a clearing house.  The name of the person I spoke with is listed in the magazine's ad department info.  I think this mag is run from a small shop were everyone contributes to more than one department - goota say they do a good job of it.  I enjoy reading it.

The caller hangs up every time I answer. If I let it go to voice mail, then the caller hangs up, that way also! No one ever answers, or leaves a message.

ACBJ was the caller ID. I had a subscription to the Wichita Business Journal and they keep calling for me to renew.  Very persistent.

I called the number back, and it went to the American Business Business Journal's call center.  Probably just a sales call.  If they call again, tell them to put your number on their "Do Not Call" list.
