I had red flags the whole time and did some research to find this site with similar names, emails and method. So glad I didn't go through with it!!

Okay we have had exactly the same thing happen. Credit cards approved and everything. We have not (thankfully) shipped any goods. Can he get access to our banking from the credit card receipts or how does this work?

We have had dealings with this person as well. How does he get his money? What do we do to make sure our security is not breached?

Same thing happened to me.  I do ship orders worldwide but had a gut feeling with the choppy english and use of wording.  And especially when they are requesting me to get a shipping quote.

Below the e-mails that I had exchange with this creep... I smell them for a mile...
One thing you have to be 100% sure, that when you take the credit card the shipping address HAS TO Associated with the credit card. Then you can tell the Bank that this is Bank lost, if not forget it you lost.
Also do not accept credit cards from oversee if you do not know the person whom you diling with.
We accept only money transfer from oversee.

Got one too. I always am suspicious when I get a email concerning a large order and inquiring about availability when the item is clearly on my website they send the contact form from. I was burned on one of these for a few grand , years ago.

If your gut instinct throws a red flag.  Take it very seriously. I would rather loose a sale then get burned again.

I have been in the internet business a long time, and this guy ALMOST had me fooled.  We often get overseas orders, thus his requests did not seem too suspicious, until we had so much trouble with the credit cards.  The credit card companies kept telling us that the issue was his bank, and at first it was our method of taking cards on our ecart etc; etc;  But because his English was good, his phone number and addresses checked out etc; etc;  we thought it was legit, UNTIL we Googled it and found this listing.  We have changed all of the numbers etc; in this listing, and our names etc; but wanted the public to see how sophisticated these thieves in Nigeria are becoming.....

I received an e-mail instead of a phone call. I've seen similar emails come through to my companies general e-mail account. You can tell they are a scam because they usually use @gmail and sign off by using the last name.

They used a different name as the contact but same address. See Below:
