The call I got from this number said someone would contact me about health insurance in GA in the next few days. They said they were with a college here in GA.
Have received SEVERAL calls on caller ID with no messages, Im ON THE DONT CALL LIST!! Im angry because on more than one occassion I've answered the call after being awakened and there is only DEAD AIR, it's almost like harrassing calls! I finally answered the other day 031008 and it was a lady, I was so angry, I knew I had NO BUSINESS in Blue Ridge so I immediately asked her to stop calling me, she said I'll call if I want to, I hung up on her and SHE CALLED ME BACK!!! Im very upset, hate telemarketer calls and dont want to be harrassed at my home!!
I don't know who they are or what they want. No one is on the line when you answer but they call all the time.
I received a call from Blue ridge EMC this number was different than above. its an ATLANTA area code 770-342-2529.. I did not anwser it the machine pick up and they hung up..

A call came to my home at 7:53PM August 11, 2008..no message..caller ID was Blue Ridge EMC.
I tried to return the call several times, getting only a jumbled message each time.
Blue Ridge,GA is near my son's home, and EMC immediately translated to me Emergency Medical Care. I called directory assistance for name of # and was told there was none. So to me it must have been an emergency room pay phone.
see where all this is going?? by the time i was satisfied there was no medical emergency and all my children were alright, i had spent many agonizing minutes making many useless long distance phone calls.
actually, i do hope they call back because I'll be sure to answer the phone next time. I have something to sell them, too.

Received a call around 6:45 pm CST from some young man claiming to be calling from a research firm and asking my mother questions about her insturance saying they were representing Aflack Insurance. They asked her to verify her name, her employer and her age. My mother, a senior citizen, trustingly gave this information. When I insisted strongly enough that she hang up, she handed the phone to me and I disconnected the call.
When are companies going to wise us and stop using telephone surveys. It's just not safe to give out any information or answer any question over the phone regardless of how innocuous it may seem. Please, if you have older persons or young kids living in your household, make it a standing rule that they are to say: "We don't give out ANY information over the telephone. Period." Please assure them they are not being rude, just safe.
I want to report this number and have it BLOCKED from ever calling me again!!! Idiots and scammers, I'm sure.
call came in at 7:43 pm eastern time. Once answered I heard a female laughing and talking. Once I said hello she hung up. I attempted to call back and got a busy signal.

We received a call from 706-265-9055 on Monday around 4:15 p.m. My husband answered the phone and he said they asked for me by name. When he told them that I was not available they asked when would be the best time to reach me. He said after 8:00p.m. Then when he asked if he could take a message, the woman hung up on him. I have not received a call back.

TONIGHT, I ASKED SPECIFICALLY IF GEORGIA STATE IS CONDUCTING THIS RESEARCH AND WAS TOLD YES. I ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE FACULTY ADVISER. SHE SAID THERE WAS NOT ONE AVAILABLE. I ASKED FOR THE NAME OF THE ADVISER; SHE HUNG UP ON ME. GEORGIA STATE IS NOT IN THE 706 AREA CODE; THEY WOULD NOT BE USING BLUE RIDGE EMC. ASK THEM THE SAME QUESTIONS I ASKED. THEY ARE LYING. I'M SURE OF THAT. I HAVE CONTACTED GEORGIA STATE TO FIND OUT FOR SURE IF THEY ARE BEHIND THIS. I have been receiving calls from 706-265-9055 for the past three days. One day I came home and saw that they had called my home 7 times. Caller ID says "Blue Ridge EMC". When I call the number back, I also get the recording stating "You have reached our call center, please leave a message". I left a message advising I would report the number to the police if they did not stop calling. They still continue to call. I am in the process of contacting my phone company to see what kind of action they can take.
Someone called my house from this number and hung up when I did not answer. The next time the call came I answered and it was a young man who said he was doing a medical survey. He asked if anyone in the household works in the medical field, age category, income category, race, etc. and then told me those were all the questions he had for me. That is the second "survey" of the same thing this week. What can be done to stop this?
This number has called a couple of times. I answered it today, and a kid told me he was doing a research study for Georgia State University, and did I have 15 minutes. I told him I didn't have time, and he asked if he could call back another time, I said I wasn't interested. He said ok.
I too received a call from this Blue Ridge EMC. I was home, picked up the call, and heard something in the background that would make me think it was either a call center or very busy. As soon as I said "hello" they hung up on me. Pretty annoying. I've had calls in the past that didn't give an "id" just vague "out of area" type of thing where the same thing happened (hanging up on me when I answer). Tonight it happened at around 6:30 pm (when they hung up on me) but there was this id. Since I "answered" the call and they hung up, I'm a bit confused as to what might be happening with this.
I received several calls from 706-265-9055: 8/16/2007 at 6:21 pm, 7:41 pm 8:41 pm; 8/17/2007 at 5:51 pm, 8:16 pm; 8/18/2007 at 12:41 pm; 8/21/2007 at 7:24 pm; and 8/22/2007 at 6:10 pm. It registered "Blue Ridge EMC" on the caller-id. I called it back on 8/21, got the message, "You have reached our call center, please leave a message." I reported this call to Windstream via their web page, because I thought it was related to a scam ring operating out of Accra, Ghana. I was the victim of a fraud, and the person committing the fraud occasionally used numbers that were no longer in service, from various locations, when he called my home, and on one occasion connected from an "information number" from Germany country code 49. Additionally, he was able to connect somehow to the Robins AFB, GA telecom trunk line on a number of occasions when he called. These calls (706) came in during the same timeframe as his other calls. I have researched extensively since I became a victim, and these "scam cells" or "terrorist cells" purchase "no longer in service" numbers or even an "area code" number somehow to enable them to call various locations around the US, or world, without identifying their real positions. They use "forwarding services", starting with "011-44-70*", so that their victim will think they're in London, for example, when they are actually in Ghana, or somewhere else. There was also, during this same timeframe, a call center operating out of Birmingham, AL, asking for donations to some police organization. The research I did on it would not reveal an identity for that number. The question I'd like to ask those who commented on this telephone number is: If any of you ladies are single, did you visit a dating site during this time where you were approached by someone who said they were from the US, but temporarily in Africa working, or investing, or looking after a sick relative? If so, the possibility exists that the scammers are probably using this number. I reported all of this to the FBI, and to a Fraud Agency in the UK. In case this number is related to the scammers use, I'd like to post the cell numbers I have for my scammer - maybe it will help locate who is using this 706 number: 011-23-324-952-7500 and 011-44-703-183-9268. He calls himself "Brian Jones". Their cell company is "MTN", formerly "Areeba", until MTN took over around 3 Aug 07.
I received a call from this number on Sept. 24 at 7pm. No caller ID- just said Unkown Caller. No message.
