call came through as blocked name. I did not answer.

call came through and left a text message of the phone number only instead of a voicemail.

They call saying that  a check was written to their company and to give them a replacement. First....I dont write checks...does anyone anymore...lol

I found out that it was someone with a name similar to mine that had written a bad check to a plumbing company...guess they look up names in the phone book and call anyone thats close to matching. They wanted to take my momney for her check though,....uhhhh not happening!!!

(707)586-1219 number calls me at least once a week, but say they are calling from Riverside Volkswagen. The caller id came up for "Checks Inc.", and when they leave a voice mail they say they are from Riverside. First, i live in Northern California, Riverside is in So. California and Second, i DON'T own a Volkswagen.

This number is obviously someone trying to scam anyone they can.

My advice to you is get a cheap answering machine, hook it up to your phone and let the answering machine screen all your calls. If this messages keeps coming on your answering machine, just erase it. Never call it back and DO NOT give it any of your personal information, no matter what. It is easy enough for these scammers to get hold of your family information and use it to trick you into giving them more info.
DON'T let them do it to you. Just have a good laugh at the stupid message on your machine, then erase it and move on with your life. Eventually the scammer will call someone else instead.

won't say who they are calling for claim they are from village park animal hospital and want to talk about an account.....send them cashiers check,mo,or give them credit card number.......I have no pets!!!!!!!!!
