Most likely a telemarketer. When I answered the phone I heard a man's voice say "...answering machine" and then he hung up. I guess he thought he got my voice mail.

The latest thing by telemarketers/scam artists seems to be to get a phone number with a local or nearby area code, so it looks like a legitimate business or maybe a friend or relative is calling you. Don't fall for it  though.
