This is the telephone equivalent of the Nigerian scam.  The caller, Paul, purports to have a major prize (an automobile) that you have won - source, naturally, omitted - and all you need do is send the company a sum of money to receive the prize.

CALL WAS RECEIVED IN MASSACHUSETTS ON JULY 10, 2009. "PLEASE RETURN THE CALL. YOU HAVE WON ... " PLUS MORE DRIVEL

Received same call that I'd won an automobile in prize drawing I'd entered in the past 18 months. Caller (male) left this message on my answering machine and left number to call back.

A recording from "Paul" with caller ID PMS: 708-389-3396 told me that this was his last attempt to reach me so that I may claim my SUV that I won in a drawing. He made it sound urgent like he has been trying to reach me and that this was my last chance to claim my prize. It is the first and only call I have received with this message. Obviously a scam. The number he told me to call was 877-844-2964.

Got the same call, with the same message on Sept 27.  "Paul Seed" left a return number 8778442964, extension 0.  Won an SUV, call asap.  The voice almost sounds computer generated, with a chicago/midwestern accent.

I thought it was a joke - his voice sounds like one of the nasaly voices  you'd use when phone pranking someone. I just simply love Paul Seed at ext "0", my new bff
