Many calls from this number only to hang up.  Tired of this crap.  Google search indicates it's a collection agency, but no one in the home has any outstanding items of any kind.

I use a don't call list from my verizon cell phone service (6 free numbers or unlimited numbers for 4.99 a month). Right now I'm only using 5 phone numbers. One is from portfolio recovery, but I'm going to get the unlimited don't call service and list as many of portfolio recovery's phone numbers as i can get a hold of. There calls won't go thru to you once you put it on the don't call list. Check your phone service and see if they have the don't call service and pass this message on to other victims who are getting harrassed by portfolio recovery. I had my voice mail on my phone cancelled until I get the rest of portfolio's phone numbers. Then, if they still come up with a different number to get through to me, I will simply add that number to my don't call list. Even if they use an "unavailable number" you can find that number out (maybe for a small fee) and add it to the don't call list. I hope this helps.

I have to agree with you.  I am so annoyed right now.  I am on a do not call list - how are they getting thru.

I am on the Do Not Call Registry for my cell phone.  How are they getting thru.  Constantly calling my cell phone.  I want this to stop and stop now.  They call every day and use another number as well.  I understand this is a debt collection agency - I have very good credit there is no reason for these calls.  What can we do to make these people stop bother me.

Just got a call from this number. Tried to call it back...got a message that the number isn't in service. They just called me a few minutes ago....YES, THIS IS A SCAM PHONE NUMBER!!!!

The federal statute is 7 yrs. Then it is to be removed permenately.

I have received numerous calls from the idiots at some company call portfolio recovery or something like that. First call was about 6 months ago. I talked to some stupid woman about some debt with Discover card. I tried to tell her I do not have, nor have I ever had a Discover card. She plainly called me a liar and a deadbeat before I leveled a few choice words back to her and she stated her company would call everyday until I paid up. I told her I did not have anything to pay up and if they continued to call I would take legal action. The calls stopped until today and I got another call left on my missed calls on my cell phone.
If they call again, after a few more choice words I will take legal action against these idiots since I have no idea what they are talking about. There should be some type of legal action taken against a company like this!

Just answer any of these stupid call and simply say

Dective [any name you want to use]
You  have reached a crime scene and this phone is wire tapped. You will be contacted at home or at work in the next 24 hours, then just hang up..........

Collection agency- very aggressive- calls from many other phone numbers even after being asked to stop.

Old Portfolio Scavengers are at it again!!!  Tell them the person you are looking for is in South America, or Europe or Africia !!!  It may not stop the calls, but it will aggrevate the *&^%  out of them.

ANOTHER debt collector looking for someone who NO LONGER has this number.  No one answers, just dead air - similar to what's in their head.

I received a call from this company for a debt that has been discharged through bankruptcy almost 10 YEARS AGO - hello!

I got a call from this number for the first time this morning.  No message was left.  If they can't take the time to leave a message like a legitimate and professional company would I have no time to speak with them.

Company called my number several times. Have no clue why they are calling but I purchased this phone at Walmart and Net 10 says they can do nothing about it so I keep getting charged for the calls. Imagine Net 10 not wanting to fix a vested interest problem. :-)

I'm continually getting calls from this number.  If this is collection agency, I have no idea why they are calling here.  I have no overdue debts of any kind.

Portfolio Recovery Associates of Norfolk, VA uses this number...they are on the web, btw....and they are what are called "scavanger collections", that is, they purchase old or written off debt from companies for a hugely discounted rate, and try to collect. If u r concerned about the "account" they mention, start by finding out the Statute of Limitations on debt collection for ur state. They keep trying to get me to pay on a debt that is 9 years old!

I got a call from some lady that said I owed money to Debt One.  I have no account with Debt One.  Further the number she called was my cell phone.  I am so sick of these type of calls I could scream! UGH

these calls are a waste of my time, especially during work! don't owe anything.

These jerks call everyday, sometimes more than once.  Lastest call was 2-minutes ago at 8PM.  I owe no one but apparently two women who had my number previously owed everyone and everyone has been calling trying to collect from them.  It has been a pain convincing these jerks that these gals don't live here.

They keep calling me!!! How do I stop them from calling my cellphone? I don't know where thy are getting my phone number from and I have already told them several times to quit calling and have hung up on their face. My cell keeps going off during work with missed calls from them!

Got a call from this number,, no message...

Called but no message.  Portfolio Recovery has been calling me for months based on a debt my ex-wife ran up.  I have tried to push them to go to court but they refuse.  The last time they did so, on a differnt Credit Card, I responded as required by law and they didn't pursue it because they know they will lose.  Seems they add a new number every few months.  With modern technology, I am able to forward all their numbers direct to Voice Mail (never rings), so they don't even bother leaving messages anymore.  Here are all the number I have collected:
