I have a cricket phone also, and no wells fargo account. The number when called back does mention wells fargo and tells you your card is limited. I just told them I am reporting them for fraud. Annoying a**holes need to spend some time in prison. It does ask for your card number. DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM. I don't have one so this is a stupid attempt to get info. Don't fall for it

THIS IS THE WELLS FARGO PHISHING SCAM. PLEASE DON'T GIVE IT ANY INFORMATION.

Sorry for the caps but this is important.

Text messages - 2, actually - that came from short code 6245 (a "standard" # that apparently is used for texts sent from an email address). They both said the same thing:
pbc@vtext.com Hello.There is a problem with your debitcardCall (713)5817164.

This is the 5th message I've received like this, all to my Cricket wireless broadband modem. They are all variations on the "your card is about to be limited/cancelled" etc. The others mentioned Wells Fargo; this one didn't but I called the # just to be sure. An automated voice answered "Wells Fargo" and said to remove the limitation on my card, Press 1. I did and then it asked for the card #. I tried to get it to go further, to see what else it would ask for, by giving it a dummy # (all 9s) but it recognized it as invalid. So I hung up and reported it to Wells Fargo's phishing report department, which is
REPORTPHISH@WELLSFARGO.COM

If you're worried about your card call whoever issued it - bank or credit card company - or call the # on the card. Don't call the # in the message. It's an identity theft attempt.
