cannot be completed as dialed

This is probably a spoofed number, since 555 is not a regularly assigned prefix.  Possibly an overseas scammer.

This number is at it again. How stupid do these people think we are?

this number called with a foreign name, did not answer when redialed it said Time Warner assistance

I got a call from a live person, when the phone rang there was no-one there then he picked up, and sounded befuddled.. I told him to go f*** himself, and then he called back in like 5 minutes to tell me to get a job.. hahahahha, IT working from home

got a call from this number. Couldn't figure out whuy a number that is usually a long distance information number would be calling me. Told the speaker that he had the wrong number.

Second time this week a call from this spoofed number. Caller ID = Dir Asst Ca. When I put this number into Google, a web page with this phone number associated with an Orange County Realtor is shown.

Obviously a spoofed number. I just received a call from this number; left a blank six-second voice mail message. I've been getting this same blank voice mail message for the past week or so; usually twice a day from different numbers. (They use the same number twice, then switch to a new one.) What the heck is going on?

Received a call from 714-555-1212 (this is a directory assistance number ???).  Answered, told to stay on line,  I hung up.  Noted the number and date.  It appeared on my bill as a 1.50 charge which I had not made.  Be sure to check your phone bill...you may be being charged.

Just got calls from this number twice in an hour.  I answered, but no one was there.

Same here! Good thing other people had this happen or I wouldn't have thought to call Verizon

I got a call from Wells fargo Bank , that my card it's been deactivated so they need SS#  and card # , the thing is I don't any acc whith them ..so funny .

Got a call from tonight electronic female voice said my wells Fargo debit card was canceled and wanted me to press "1" to connect to their security department.  I've never used wells Fargo but I recently made an online purchase from newegg,  who ship out of the LA area.  Obvious scam.

I just got a call from that number..and didnt answer it. Googled the number and found this forum. My sister called to warn me last night about a wells fargo scam as described above...and numerous people in the state of utah we know have recvd it, including her and her husband yesterday. I'll sure be more cautious and on the lookout...totally ticked off that losers do this....

got the voice mail, said my debit card was on hold, called, the person said it was sprint 411.  I said you left a message about my debit card, and they xfered me to customer service, which I was on hold for a while, then I decided to hang up.  called spirnt customer service, those b*****ds put a $1.99 charge on my phone.  it was removed.

Received two calles, back to back. It was a computer voice saying my Wells Fargo debit card had been suspended due to an accounting error and to press "1".  It is obviously a scam so I hung up both times.

Just received a message from this number - it said for your debit card press 1 - then silence for 24 seconds.  Weird.

I just received the call a few minutes ago. I didn't answer it, but I am glad that I didn't. they left no message.

Same as above. Wells Fargo asking for social security #.

I also got a call from this number as well on Jul 23rd. I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. Just thought it was an odd number (555 is always on movies and then to add a 1212 made it weirder).

received call on cell.  wells fargo scam.  hung up. obvious they are spoofing their callerid.

Said they were from Wells Fargo and card was being blocked because of security problem.  I did not take call.

The are pretending to wells fargo with some BS about about a bank card being blocked. Sounds like fraud to me.

I got the call and didn't answer, called back and it was a 411 service. I called verizon and they said I couldn't be charged unless i physically pressed 411 into the phone... so that's good. But i'm pissed and would really like to know who would pull some s*** like this.

I had the exact same happen. I am on the phone with verizon now cuz i'm not paying 2 bucks for some a**le to play a joke on me.

Just got a call from this number - automated woman said they were wells fargo and had blocked my debit card. i dont bank at wells and never had, but i played along. i entered fake info that they wanted and it never errored out. when it got to the credit card info, i hung up. this was also on my verizon cell, which has long been listed on the do not call registry. I called verizon to see about 'tracing' where the call came from, since it was an obvious fake number (any area code +555-1212 will get you information, like 411, etc). 714 is California, near LA - cities in the  714 area code includes Tustin, Placentia, Anaheim, Buena Park, Cypress, Fountain Valley, Fullerton, Orange, Garden Grove, Santa Ana, Yorba Linda, portions of La Habra, and most of Brea, and Huntington Beach.

anyway, big red said they couldnt trace it (really???? - probably some reverse privacy law) and to contact the local authorities - yeah right, like they would be able to do anything... was going to contact wells, but it appears that they dont care according to CJ's post.

This is the second time I've gotten this call. Last was about 6 months ago. Didn't answer when I saw a "555" prefix remembering it was a scam. Someone from the movies is trying to call you!

I got a call from that number at 12:44pm. And my mom and dad asked me who it was and i told them i dont know. I called it this morning and i started to think it was a scam so i searched it online.

Just got this same call. I don't normally use my wells fargo card, but i have been lately. so i get this call saying due to unusual charges my card was deactivated.  i put in the last four numbers of my SS# and then hung up. I called wells fargo and they said my card was not deactivated.  well it is now, and their sending me a new card.

Call at 1:45 a.m. saying it was Wells Fargo Security. They called my cell phone which is Verizon.  Contacted WF this morning and they were not concerned.
