Just received a message from this number. They said they were from GSS and the legal documents where returned to them as undeliverable, and I was to contact Scott Evens at this number to stop further legal complications. They left a case number, but 714 is a California area code. I have not lived there in 24 years.

My mother just had samething happen to her...So glad we didn't do anything over the phone.Did anything ever come about this call again?

Had them call me friday jan19 2013......as described above they call refering to past debit that i had 7 years ago.....they "offered" me a settlement payment of $500 but was only good NOW....told them i dont feel comfortable doing this and for them to provide me proof of this bad debit.....they said they will email it to me and call me back 10 mins later.....i did receive the email and looked ligit....when they called back it was from a number "unknown".......after further discussion and pressure with them they got a partial payment of $250 .......yes that was dumb on my part but it gave me time because this weekend is a federal holiday so therefore the payment hasnt posted......been in contacted with my bank and informed them about this scam....and canceled my debit card i used.....so yes they "got" me at first but in the end they didnt....may have got 250 but not the whole 500......purpose of me telling you my story....dont be forced to make a payment they can not provide the legal documents they say they have because its a scam.....i would advise those who have recieved this phone call from them.... your credit has been run by "cambridge asset and management & associates, llc" within the last 6 months....i found this out after i pulled my free annual credit report .....the compay that found this was experian credit report...lesson learn investigate while you have them on the phone and run your credit report.....they say that this bad debit will be taken off but here is the catch .....its not on your credit report

They are breaking the FDCPA -- if they are actually a collection agency they CAN NOT threaten you wityh a lawsuit or disclose to anyone (your work) about the debt. Their website state they are a collection agency and not a law firm. They would not serve you papers directly they would have the local sherrif/courts do it. File a complaint to the attorney general of your state also send a cease and desist letter to them informing them not to call your work again. Do that via certified mail. Also have they sent you notice so that you can dispute the debt etc?

They called my work getting to our legal dept asking if it was ok to come to my work and serve me papers because I'm never home when they come to serve me which is not true.  So I called the number which was the 714-584-9146 I've called it the past 3 days and all I get is voicemail asking to leave my case number.  You can't understand there voicemail message i't's very mumbled when they announce their company name and I heard Simon Echler & Associates it's a debt collection agency very rude will not verify anything with other than you need to pay them now or they will take you to court for payments that were possibly for more than 10 yrs ago I will admit I was young and stupid told them to give me a western union account so I can wire them money to pay on it they won't they only want checking or savings account numbers.  All you have to do is tell them you know they are falsifying themselves and not to mislead there information or you will contact authorities they've changed there numbers like several times it's never the same number.

These people run several businesses out of this number... Total Scam Artist.   The person you are suppose to call back and ask for is actually a "code" word so they know what to scam you on.  Mess with these people and make up a name.... really confuse them....lol

Claimed I had a unpaid credit card balance from 8 years ago.  When I asked to have papers sent to me so my lawyer could look over them they got very rude.  Wanted me to pay while I was on the phone or I would have to go to court.

They called my brother in Illinois, looking foir my wife, I live in Texas. Have no idea how they got his number.

I cannot find out who this is.  Got a voice mail saying I had undeliverable legal documents and to call the law firm for additional information.
So, not calling them back.  Even if so its probably old debt under the statute of limitations.
Last time one of these companies called I sent them a verification letter and heard NOTHING back.
