The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

Just got a call from this person today, Chris Price.  When I tried calling him back, there was simply a voice mail system.  I asked he cease and desist contact with me, and informed him I was making a complaint to the FTC.  I also told him any person connected with his agency who tried to contact me in person would be met by local law enforcement; if it's a legit thing, they should have no worries.  This person has never once sent written documentation on any alleged debt.  I am going to research lawyers to see what can be done to stop these calls.

Chris Price & Sarah are rippers. They breed on folks who applies for payday loans and debt relief assocations. They get your info off the internet websites. They will only give you partial info of you profile because the internet does not display all of your confidential info such as social security or bank numbers. They might give you the last four digits of your ss# or bank# but they can't give you all the info. They are ripoffs. Do not fall for their accusations that you are being investigated. Trust me, the real folks will send out an affidavit or send the sheriff with the affidavit if you are in trouble with the courts or law. Never give info over the phone. Call your courts or police department.

Chris Price called my job saying "this message is for Tanya Henderson (wrong person). Chris said to give him a call for case 83368. Tanya unfortunately your paperwork was sent to him for him to render a decision and based on information on an investigation he would need to speak to me directly. Then he says, good luck to you". This is a bogus call because I work with the legal department and this is not how debt collectors or attorneys, or even the courts operate.  I could hear this guy was calling from a call center and they receive our information on the internet through catalog orders, payday loans, online loans, etc. Do not be alarmed.

Chris Price called me, first asked me my birthdate and then when I tried to hang up tried to verifiy the last 4 digits of my social security number.  Total scam, when I called and asked who they were and why they kept calling the woman on the other end said there were various companies and she did not know which company Chris had left a message regarding.  He became hostile and belligerent when I did not give him the information he wanted.  My advice, do not call this number back.

I just received a similar call from this guy, so i filed a complaint with the Do Not Call Registry, as my number is on the DNC list.

Said his name was Chris Price with "Prime Solutions", but i doubt any of that is legitimate.

Go here and file additional complaints if you received a call from this group:
