I got this annoying call twice a day!!!

The caller asked to speak to another family member who was absent at the time.  He said he was calling from Aeroplan or AirMiles or some such thing.  Polite, no drama.

I have actually spoken to someone at the other end.  He always asks for my husband and I tell him that 'he is not here at the moment'.  Now we just do not answer and they do not leave a message.  Call display is a wonderful thing!  We do not have any CIBC accounts BUT I do books for a company that does use the CIBC.  Could that be the link?

I get a call from them every day for the last 2 month. It is very annoying. Today I phoned back and an automatic message came on asking me to leave my name and number if I would like to be taken off their calling list. It was a company on behalf of CIBC re: New Credit Card Services.

Looks like these jokers found some sort of loophole to get around the DNC list. I have an Aeroplan card but no relationship with CIBC. That shouldn't allow them to use my info for their calling lists - guess I must have missed an obscure little checkbox on their website that says "Please annoy and harass me by giving my contact info to all of our lame partners". Pretty shady of Aeroplan at the very least.

I received these phone calls dozens of times always the same recording Vox calling on behalf of CIBC I was nice in the beginning now I am getting very angry. I have an out of town cell and they are costing me minutes and roaming. I have left nice messages the 1st and 2nd the 3rd was borderline psycho path me telling them stop or I will pursue harassment charges. What more can a person do???

October 25, 2012.  Sounded like a Jamaican accent.  Called 3 times. 12:49, 12:50 and 12:51.  Kept saying that it was about a loto 649 winning ticket for 4.5 million dollars.

Told him I didn't gamble, 2nd time said it was against my religion and the 3rd time he called, I swore at him and slammed down the phone.

Have reported this to the police.

Calls many times during the day. didn't answer, no message
But luckily I have call block on my phone so problem solve
but still annoyed lol

For those wondering how they got your number, it was probably through a rewards program.
I'm singed up with Areoplan and since CIBC is a partner, they have access to the info I provided to Areoplan.
It doesn't justify all the annoying calls, but it at least answers the how?  Like others, I just reject the number in my smartphone.

this number is relentless it has called me three times today . i try to answer it but my phone disconnects the call, and they never leave a message.

called the number back and was given the option to have my number removed from their calling list.  Hope this works.

I get 2 calls a day from this number. I once answered it to tell them to stop calling me but there was no one there.  I want these call to stop because they keep waking me up.

If you are able to do so on your Android smartphone, simply add this number to the call reject list...End of story. I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 and I can add every unrecognized number and never hear from them again. Although I'm no longer bothered by this particular number they have attempted to call me again as I can see from my call logs letting me know they have tried.

There should be a law against telemarketing.  I'm pissed that I would regularly be called by 8882292330 without having been asked by them.  My time is worth far more than theirs.

Probobly cuz ur name is on your answering machine, what creeps!! They just called me and didn't leave a msg.  I dare them to try and pull that shady crap with me.. I will not have it!

This number called my cell phone just now and didn't leave a msg - they have nothing better to do with their miserable lives.

4-6 calls/day. never anyone there...just dead silence and i hang up...5 minutes later it's still dead air, no dial tone..... can't use the phone

I have an unlisted number.  Telemarketers are getting my number from someone not by chance.  So if there are any out there and are reading this beware.  You are being recorded and will be contacted by legal means if you don't stop!

Yup got another call from them, well ive had 4 in the past 4 days, and I've never done any business with CIBC.

I and my husband have been receiving these calls - our number is unlisted so it must be affiliated with some sort of company we have been involved with.  I have been put on the National "Do Not Call List" but that takes at least a month to go into effect.

The first call I had I answered after the 2nd ring and there was just a dial tone.  The second one I answered they said something + CIBC.  We do not bank with them.  The third call my husband answered because they ask if he was ******** and he said yes, and the phone went to dial tone again.
We traced the number to what people have said it is Voxdata on behalf of CIBC.  Why doesn't this bank do something about it?

I get calls everyday from this number. Answered once, no response and hung up. Once I remember my password for the phone, will be blocking number. There is another number as well  866 312 9648

888-229-2330 is from a company called Vox Data.  CIBC obtained a list of Aeroplan users and is using Vox to telemarket a CIBC credit card!!!!

1-888-229-2330, they told me it was VOXCOM on their answering device when I called the number back...... Don't know who this VOXCOM call center or company is.

Recently within the past 2 months I get these suspicious phone numbers on my call display 1 - 888 , 1 -877

Yesterday, I had a suspicious call from another call centre MET something in Ontario.  I took their number too. I called them back. They were looking for an individual who I don't know, but I keep getting calls for him, I've told some of the parties (if I am home to get the phone) to take my number off their list but it isn't working.

They Met credit adjusters were supposed to take my number off their list yesterday.  Apparently this person who they are looking for, has given a bad number to some kind of collection agency (now I'm thinking there is more than one agency) & I keep getting alll these *&^%$#@*&^%$% calls.

Irate I guess i'm irate !. Now this one 1 - 888 - 229 - 2330.

I provided my information on February 9th... expecting to receive a CBIC Visa and never received it. I called CIBC today and was informed they had no record of my application.

Idjit's been spamming my mobile phone. I look at my recent call list over half of the listed numbers is this fellow.
