Yeah, some woman stating she is from some law firm called to say I owed money. The funny thing is all these so-called "agencies" are in bed together. Giovi, Titan, Eastern, First Source, Arrow Financial, SRA Associates, etc. I challange them as they come. I send them a certified letter demanding the facts as outlined  under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and demand the immediate halt to ALL further communications until information is furnished. Guess what? That's right... NO response.    
   I'm sure some other fake-a**, scumbag agency will come along and will continue the chain. I am ready!!

I'm getting phone calls from them.. and they are doing the same thing.. I did make a payment and then did research after the fact and found all of the complaints so I stop sending them any money.. My mom is getting the calls and she gets nervous thinking I'm going to jail because of these a**holes.. I need help to get them to stop.. I called them and told them if they call me again I will be the one suing them.

I want to do the same thing.. I so tired of them.. What are you saying? that will be two harrassing them.

called my cell # Caller ID stated 716-282-3300 . gave me a name of Ms. Cowart for an attorney by the name of John Nicolia, gave me a number of 877-827-7516 ext # 22 regarding a civil matter. They were calling my cell # looking for my daughter.

So did you even read the post you are responding to right above? Call them first thing in the morning. They can provide more assistance.

As for the crooked collectors, tell them to send them written proof of the debt before you will respond. If they refuse to send it, they are violating the law and you can tell THEM you're going to send THEM to the NY Attorney Grievance Committee.

Write down the time of every call they make to you. They are crooks.

If the checking account you used is still active, go to your bank and have the assign you a new number, explain that you were scammed by these guys. They have your account number and if you put money into the account, they can take it out without you having to write another check.

HELP!! How do I get them to leave me a lone.  They have threaten to send me the District Attoreny because I failed to honor a payment arrangement.  They are threatening to send me to jail for bad check.  I did not write a check.  I wanted to give a debit card but they insited I had to give the routing number and account number.  I unfortunately did not have the money and now they threaten me with writing a bad check accross state lines.  I called my mom in panic and she requested written documentation and stuff and they said no.  They insited on her information which she refused.  I just realized today 08-04-2009 that I have never received a written letter from them, they called my cell phone which only friends and family know, they are on my credit report as one that checked into my credit but I show no debt owed to Eastern Management.  I am scared and worried and if they are a scam I feel violated and want to know how the hell they got all my personal information!  Please tell me what i can do!!

I get calls from these people and they use profane language, call me names and and hang up on me, when I don't give them what they want. So now I have gotten to the point where I call them everyday just to record the calls so I can send it to NY's Attorney General's Office. It amuses me to see how when you turn the tables they show their true colors. Now when I call they tell me that they're going to not only sue me criminally, which they absolutely cannot, but they're going to sue me for "harrassing them", and calling them everyday, all day. Let's see how that holds up in court. The headlines would read, Shasty Collection Agency Sues , Consumer for harrasment.

Eastern Asset Management/John Paul Nicolia, Attorney  I got a call from this lady saying she was calling on behalf of the law offices of John Nicolia on an old credit card file I have. She told me what company it was for, my last 4 digits of my SSN, and she told me I had two weeks to make the first payment to Eastern Asset Management or I would be sued. So, I set up payment arrangements with John Nicolia and gave him my bank account number and paid them for 2 months. I just recently had a friend who got the same call as I did and she researched and found they are a scam company and I need to get out of them taking money from me.

This number POSES as "Douglas R. Burgess Law office" ...But when listened to my voice mail they SAID they were from "Eastern Asset Management" They are a NASTY debt collector company - read more about them here:
