they are a collections agency. they break all laws. they should not be talking to third parties and they must give you miranda before speaking to you. I am taking them to court due to this.

Got a call from this number saying I was being sued over a credit card. They wanted a checking account number and also said that the sheriff had to be paid to serve papers.

My ex girlfriend works for eastern asset. Their all a bunch of drug feens. Travis casey is the biggest one of them all. Im not with my ex anymore because she slept with a bunch of guys in the public bathroom at eastern asset. Dont trust any of these people. Eather their w***es or on drugs. Dont pay them at all. its a scam.

Called at work. Asked to speak to the person who they were looking for. After being told the person was unavailable, the woman left a message saying that the person was in legal trouble and needed to contact her right away. Needless to say, message found its way to the trash.

What if I paid them for 6 months then stopped? My own stupidity I didn't evn validate the account. I just knew I went through a rough time and it could have been mine so I paid them $100.00 a month for 6 months. They scared me into it at the time and are trying the same tactics now but, I have a letter typed and ready to mail. But, since I was paying them do I need to make an offer?

Received call from this number back in 2008 , and again today 7-24-08-
Each time called , no answer and have left messages with no return call- Only thing I could make out from the collector was a threat of stating he was with the Dallas County summon court office - which is invalid - Quite familiar with Dallas county court system-

FDCPA does not allow a debt collector to:
Ruin your credit rating
Refer account to an Attorney
Garnishment or repossession
Extract money by giving false threats
Sending letters to debtors that appear to be sent by the Court is also not allowed.

A debtor cannot be threatened of being arrested on failure to repay the debt amount.

Whom to contact in case of FDCPA violation?
In majority of the cases, debtors who have been harassed by debt collectors report irregularities to the Attorney General of the respective states. You can also approach the Federal Trade Commission or FTC to register your complaints.

A Mr Ponderaro threatened me on a message on my answering machine, "This is a Procession Summons from EASTERN ASSET MANAGEMENT for the law firm of John Nicolias, you can get 6 months in jail, for case number (fake case number # trying to get me to think it is legit), etc, call me at 1-888-743-4628."  He also said my father's name, not mine (breaking another FDCPA regulation).

EASTERN ASSET MANAGEMENT AKA ETHICAL ASSET MANAGEMENT is a bottom feeder Collection Agency, Extracting money by giving false threats and using intimidation tactics.

Nicolia John Law Office is a bogus front for their Collection Agency operations.  They say they are a "Law firm".  They have no lawyers but say they are a law firm (scam, scam, scam).  They call people's families and say they are trying to keep their loved ones out of court and jail so they should make a payment right away.  Once they get your money they vanish or change their number.  There are many people that work in the "office" and they keep giving fake names.  Avoid.

Do not return the call, nor give ANY information.

Report false threats to the Attorney General.

I received a call from a Mr. Daly at John Nicolia Law Firm.   Mr. Daly was very rude...even called me names.  He said he was looking for a woman (I'll leave her name out..she could be innocent).  I do not know the woman.  He said that this woman used my daughter and my husband as emergency contacts (yet he was willing to talk to me even though he knew I was not on his list).  This guys made no sense at all.  He gave me (fake) emergency contacts to try to locate someone.  No one at my house knows this woman.  They are not emergency contacts for her.  This guy was very deceptive and rude.  I guess he thought he could trick me into telling him where someone is, someone that I don't even know.   He harassed me, yelled at me, accused me of lying and then hung up on me.

How did your case turn out with Nicola?  Do you have any recomendatiosn?

I got a call from them today claiming to be from an attorneys office.  The rambled on about "counties" and "documents presented" and "case being turned over to them," she also said they were setting a court date for "attempting to defraud a bank."  At that point I asked who she was and who she represented.  She actually said, "sir are you hard of hearing?"  This of course wasn't the first time they called me.  They have called my family members (mom, dad, brothers and sisters).  My brother who has a fond use of laguage had a lot of fun with her.  I don't think she will call him ever again.  I will record the next calls because they are really crossing the line now!  Any recomendations would be nice.

First of all I'd really like to thank you all for your comments which helped me tremendously in suing this company that represents themselves in the wrong way on the phone - harrasing day & night continuosly on cell phones, home phones - they even called my sister with the same introduction as them being attorneys Angela Bonnaducci with Nicolia Law Firm - I don't honestly even know what they're calling about - but all I know is that they're trying very hard at intimidating people into sending them money. I have received numerous phone calls from woman named Angela (who by the way also left me a couple of messages where she's litteraly screaming) which my lawyer appreciated - telling me to call her right away that I owe money and that they have civil complaint against me??? - to who, where, when, how - she never mentioned. She said that she also mailed a letter to me so I said whatever you have for me mail it, stop calling me and my family. You have no right to call whoever asking for me! I think that should be against the law!!! She again today called - I recognized the phone # so I just opened my cellphone and closed it - guess what - she calls again a second after that - I pick up and she starts introducing herself - I said " didn't I ask you to stop calling me and where is your letter that you said you sent to me a week ago - she tried to talk but I would not let her - there is nothing you can say over the phone that will hurt me - in this case it will hurt them - since I presented all the evidence I have to my lawyer couple of days ago - I will also as you Bud mentioned in your comment contact NY State Office of Attorney Grievance Committees. I think they have gone too long without anyone {"warning"} them to stop harrasing people.

I'm receiving calls from this number and business looking for a "Mr. Santiago". CONSTANT phone calls. They are obviously ignorant as to how to keep up with their debt skippers. I have had this number of mine for 2 Years plus! If that is as up-to-date as they are, then they need to get into another business. I AM "NOT" Mr. Santiago!! They will cease and decist calling me or I'm going to contact both the New York and the Florida Attorney General's Offices to file a formal complaint. Mr. Turner called saying they were going to have my son arrested. When I asked for proof of the debt he hung up. When I checked company name they are at  230 Park Ave New York, NY 10169-0005(212) 808-3058. Also found 12 cases in federal court where they are defendants in suits for violation of the Fair Debt Collection Act. They buy old debt past the statute of limitations for collection and make threats trying to get any money at all.

Debt Collectors impersonating lawyers...how "ethical."  You can stop the calls by sending Ethical Assets Management a letter directing them to cease all communication with you and warning them that if they don't, you'll pursue legal penalties against them.  Here is their headquarters address:

I think its about clout credit card my daughter had 4 years ago.

this number also called me...Said they are suing be over a credit card debt from years ago. They claim they are lawyers, with a subpeanea waiting in a few days. They tried to get money from me, but I told them I would have my lawyer call them and then had fun provoking them. (jee, they act ALOT like collections agency people rather than lawyers!) Nice to see they are getting away with impersonating a lawyer. Isnt that a crime?Perhaps we ought to SUE them!

I received a call from this number this morning claiming to be from Legal Asset Management. The person they were  a law firm looking for was someone I dated in 1999 and havent seen since. They left the phone # 1-888-346-3968 as a call back and asked me to verify his parents phone # which of course I couldnt 8 yrs later. They said he had a court case and gave me the court case #. I am guessing this is collections as no professional lawyer would be so forthcoming with an ex girlfriend. -c-
