I got the same call from a Jonathan Swanson from a steve scott law firm supposedly. I would look up the laws in your state. I live in California and this is some info I got. I would fight it and I would look into it. This guy is mirserable and very rude. aldo look up the statue of limitations in your state for this matter. You can report them to the FCC, The BBB, state attorney generals office for this bad practice.

I received a call from this number regarding a paydayloan I had taken out years ago.  They claimed to be attorneys etc., so i simply disregarded everything they said.  About 3 weeks later I found out these scumbags got a judgment against me and began garnishing my wages for the check amount plus some other LARGE ridiculous fees from god knows what.  Can they legally do this?? I am a car salesman, so it is pretty hard to convince me of anything that sounds like a scam, but even my credit cards have not had me garnished.  Why has this place for a paydayloan?
