Scam Scam and Scam do not pay these people they are bottom feeder's and can NEVER produce anything in writing. Please know your rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

McCallahan and Assocates is a scam company.Beware!!!!!!

I have been getting calls from them, three times a week for about two months now. I called back and was told that I have a payday loan and who it was, but at the time I called I owed $950 (the original loan was only $275). Today I called with a credit counselor and was told I owe $597. The representative didn't want to give us the physical address and says they don't allow mail in payments, they want your credit card information. I think the inflated fees are from M. Callahan's charge for harrassing people. If you actually owe someone, try to get on a debt management plan, don't let these people torture you and drive you insane.

I don't know if you are still having this problem with them, but I would recommend sending them a Cease Comunication Letter. Sure it costs a couple dollars to send the certified letter, but it is totally worth them not calling you repeatedly. Especially because they are phishing for information. Their address can be found at the BBB website, which they are not a BBB member but have had 10 cases against them, so their information is required to be there. I am a debt collector myself and yes i do owe a debt to this company..but the tactics they are using and highly illegal messages they leave on my voice mail leaves me with no other choice then to persue legal action..I myself would never try the tactics they use because i know my company would be slapped with a law suit..they should research what profession a person is in before being so illegal on phone calls!!!!!!

Caller Id said nothing I didn't call back.

Have gotten several calls from this creditor over the last 2 years stating that I owe debt.  When I asked what the debt was for or who they were working for, they indicated they could not give me that information.  The first time I received a call, the man said he had all my personal information so I had to pay for this debt.  He gave me the wrong personal info and when I told him he had the wrong person/info, he asked me to give him my correct info to update his records.  I told him his info was wrong and it was me.  The calls stopped for about 2 months, then they started back up with a different person calling with the same information.  I have requested that they put it all in writing with the company they are collecting for and they refuse to put anything writing.

After researching this debt, I found out this company had lied. The told my husband they wanted to settle...for $575 and represented a company that hired them. Ok, the reality of this. The debt had been sold several times and did not belong to this "company" that hired them. Also the debt was less than $300 which hasn't existed since 2008! Be careful, they are frauds.

I called back after recieving a message on my vm. They told me my phone number wasn't on file and that I was basically lying. Then I got hung up on when I gave my husbands name. I called back in case it was an accident and a different guy ends up yelling at me when I asked for the companys number that hired them and when I asked why this wasn't on our credit he flipped out. He said it isn't always that way and to never call back again. What creditor tells you to never call back again? Yeah, it hurt my feelings but I just wanted validation and verification. He told me to get an attorney. I'm surly not use to getting yelled at and I don't know how to handle this.

Threatening calls

I paid this company and took a settlement, but the guy kept my number and immediatly started to text me and look me up on facebook....ummm  yea weird and desperate

I have received a call from M Callaghan regarding a debt my daughter owed.  She had also received a call from this company.  They were very rude and I was stupid enough to send a partial payment on her debt. It has been over a month and we did not receive any paperwork from them.  I am calling my states Attorney's Office to see what can be done.

I got a call from this number advising that I was a victim of fraud. The male voice wanted my personal information. Beware never give your information to anyone over the phone.

I received calls from them on countless number of occions to settle a debt that I had with a payday loan company. the first person i spoke with offered me a settle ment of 800 dollars even. the payday loan company called me back and informed me the debt was not closed. and i had to pay another 400 dollars. I wasn't able to pay the 400 when asked and received a nother call from a Mr. Owens stating I only owned 44.00. not 400.00. the 44.00 was paid on 12/28/2009 with comfirmation number.on 12/29/2009 I receive another call from Mr. Mangomery stating the his people made a mistake and that I still own 356.00 on the account.
