I've gotten several calls from this number, and as I have two friends in the 717 area code, but don't know their numbers off the top of my head, I've called back each time. Each time I get a friendly response and am thanked for calling back, and then the gentleman goes into his schpeal about collecting for the FOP. I've politely explained that I am not in a position to contribute, yet the calls keep continuing.

I've hesitated to get forceful or nasty (as I often do with telemarketers -- I AM on the do not call list,) because the gentleman on the other end of the line seems so polite, and I keep thinking they'll remove my number, but perhaps the next time they call I will have to demand they remove my number. For whatever good that will do...

Educate yourself on the Do Not Call law.

Non-profits and charities are EXEMPT under the Do Not Call, so you have to notify them that you no longer wish to receive calls from them.

The DO NOT CALL LIST only works for commercial enteprises.  Charitable organizations and other non-profits and fundraisers are not covered by the list.

I also think the DNC list is bogus!  Got a call last month from somewhere and when I mentioned the DNC list, the guy actually laughed and said "so what".  Good job government!

The Middletown, PA people called me Sunday night at 9:00pm!! It comes up on my TV so I never answer, but sometimes this same group calls twice a day at different times.  I called them back once a few months ago on a pay as you go cell phone and they were collecting money for the Faternal Order of Police. This kind of collection makes you not want to donate to anything!

DNC list is bogus.  It does absolutely nothing and is a waste of time!  All they do is add it to a list and compile statistics.  If they get enough complaints against one company, they just give the offender a small fine, just a little slap on the wrist, and they don't handle individual complaints.  In other words, it's another typical federal waste.  The scammers just laugh if you tell them you're on the DNC list.  I stopped reporting calls a long time ago.

A FCC complaintthe number 717-546-0851.  You can also try and  contact 866-317-4614, which is a call center for the Fraternal order of police and other organizations and state your outrage and tell them you will report the FOP fundraisers for harassment. Since the Fraternal Order of Police is responsible for hiring these idiots, call them and file complaints.  If that doesn't stop the calls, file a small claims suit against all involved for harassing your at your home.

Repeated calls came in.  I called back twice and each time I got a regular everyday "Hello" like you would expect from a private phone, then he says "Thank you for calling back?" and proceeds to tell me about how he is collecting for the Fraternal Order of Police.
Since I live in 610 area code I wonder why I am getting this call from 717 area code, so I asked "Where are you calling from?" This threw him totally off, but his answer threw me off-  he stuttered and said New Jersey!
I laughed and said since the area code is in central PA, he says he is in NJ but neither is where I'm from DINT CALL ME BACK AGAIN OR I'll REPORT YOU and I'll supprrort my LOCAL police! He never called back.

Keep getting calls from this number even after I told them not to call anymore.  This a solicitation from the fraternal order of police looking for donations.

So 717-546-0581 called my house twice on 8/10/13 & 8/11/13 rang my phone once and hung up.  

I am on the National & State do not call lists which my answering machine states.  What about a $10,000 fine from each do they not understand  You should be looking numbers up on this list first and not dialing one of them!!!!!!

They don't even leave a message.  I see a number I do not know, out of state, unknown or unavailable, I'm not picking it up.  Get you DO NOT CALL LISTS as you are required by law and do not call me ever again!!!!!

They call and I don't answer because I don't recognize the number as anyone that would be calling me.  They never, never leave a message.

Got one of these calls today. It showed up as "unknown," so I didn't bother. Not the first time I've received a call from the FOP. They're always begging for cash. Maybe it's time they hit up their members...and have said members demand a slice of the ticket fees?

Hang up call to my answering machine on 8-10-2013.  Caller ID shows "Unknown Name".  About one more call and I report them to the Do Not Call directory and report it as a dead air call.  Reporting them DOES HELP!!  They tend to back off after that.

I get a lot of these same calls too; yeah, the do not call list isn't working very well is it.  My old Panasonic only held 30 block calls too.  Just bought a new one at Costco and it will let me block 250 phone #'s.  I am thrilled but it sure would be good if the phone companies and government would deal with this mess once for all!

They call, we answer & nobody ever says anything. tired of these calls!

Off from work today sick. Sound asleep and this new number calls at 9:17am, startled me since no one calls this early unless its an family emergency. No just another f'ing spambot call. I seriously almost threw the phone across the room.

(Another # has been calling at 9:15'ish and again at 8:20pm every night since last Wed.)

I have 30 other phone numbers blocked in my Panasonic phone, it's "full" - can't add anymore. I usually remove old numbers to add new ones. It's a vicious cycle with these scumbags. Its time to change my number, this one is seriously infected!
