Some Indian dude on this line.  Called me at 11:20 PM Pacific Time and asked if "Arthur was there".. I said this is he, and he hung up.. What is this crapola??  Apparently they have done this to many folks..

I got the same Indian guy last night.  He asked for me by name, told him that person was not here and hung up.  I get these all the time on my cell because that is the number I give when asked.  This was not my cell.  Weird.

I got this call at 1:54 am. I picked up after the fourth ring and the voice mail recorder was already on. I talked over the greeting and told him to call back. He never did. Strange thing was that I found a message on my voice mail at the office. It was from this same number at 2:04 am and he left no message.

I live in Paulding county GA  I just got a call from this number it is Oct 1st 2008 530 am.  He asked me was I the Paulding county schools.  I said no. But I have the number if you need it.  Then he just hung up.  does anyone know who this is?? Heavy heavy Indian accent

718-123-2083 called into our office PBX and hit 4 extensions last night, around 4:37am EST. Left no messages, but stayed on each call long enough to listen to the full outgoing messages.

I got a call last night at 12:16 am from this number. Didn't pick up, left no message.

i received one of the same kinds of calls at work. they asked for me by name and when i said this is she, he hung up. i didn't get a chance to get the number but i have been stressing about it all day. what the hell?

Caller called at 2:45 PM CST and asked for me by first name then upon my verification hung up. Male,

Called noon, left no message or deails, get reorder tone when I call back.

Called me at work. Left message that was about 2 seconds worth of white noise. Reverse phone number lookup returns "Unlisted".

Caller with Indian accent asked for my by name and then hung up. I redialed the number and got a disconnected line.

Called me at work, didn't answer, no message.  Who is it??

got a call from 718 123 2083, a man with an indian accent asked for me by my full name, I said "yes" and then he hung up.

Caller called me at 7:15 and asked to speak to me (mispronouncing my first name). He had a heavy accent, but I'm not sure if this was Indian or something else.

I got the same call...caller asking for me by name then hung up. What bothers me is that it was my work phone number where he would have had to know my extension also. This guy had a heavy British / English accent or possibly trying to pretend he had that accent.

I also got a call on 2/14/08 at 11:08 AM EST. Same thing basically except the guy had an Indian accent (and yes, working in IT for about 20 years and being half-Asian myself I know the difference). Of course, calling back leads to an invalid number. Being a consultant who's always open for "the next gig" I unfortunately mistook this a be a call back on a lead. Oh well...maybe the next one.

Got the call right now 2/14/08 11:15am pacific time, at work.  It was a man with an asian accent.  He sounded like he was talking through a tunnel.  He asked if I was <first name> <last name> a software engineer working at <company name>.  I told him yes.  Then he asked again.  Finally I asked who is this.  And then he hung up.  I googled the number on the caller ID and notice I'm not alone...

i just got a call from this same number at 1130 pm pacific time. i also have an account with monster.com.
i am going to cancel my accounts and hope that i won't be getting calls from this number again. guy just hung up after asking for me.

Received a call at 7:30 am indian strong accented mail asking to speak to me by my first name and upon acknowledging he hung up? Searched online to see what this was about but I found I was far from the only one this has happened to.I have resumes on monter and careerbuilder hoping my information isnt being misused.

Received a call at 1 AM on my cell phone. Got to work this morning and found two missed calls on my work phone from the same number. Recently put my resume on Monster.com with my cell number.

I received the phone call this morning at 12:30 AM and then they immediately called my cell phone.  When I called the number back, I receive an error stating that the call could not go through.  Neither left a message.

I received a call this morning on my cell phone at 6:27AM and the guy with a foreign accent asked if he could speak with me9 used my first nmae). I asked "who is calling?" and he hung up...

Called my work number this a.m. at 6:29 a.m. My sense is that they are probably selling phone lists but need to have valid numbers to get paid - so they have a bunch of outsourced labor from India dialing for dollars in the middle of the night, hoping no one picks up and that they can confirm the name through VM, which they just did to me.

Not sure who it is, and surprised they have cell numbers. Anyone contact the better business bureau yet?

Got call to the home phone right past the midnight. My girlfriend picked up and upon confirmation of the name the anonymous person hang up. The area code 718 is in NY (Brooklin, Queens, Bronx), but there is no exchange 123 exist in it. I tend to believe that it may have something to do with the stolen info from some place online. Definetely I'll look into all our credit records.

I recieved two calls one at 12:47 a.m. and another a minute later, with no message. However, if this is constant with the other calls my voicemail would be a verification of my first name. pretty creepy.

Received call asled for Dr first last and when I verified hung up. This is not how I am is listed in the phone book. I see a few othwer people who have been called are physicians as well. To me, this sounds like what a private investigator would do to make sure they had the right phone # for a person

Male with heavy Indian accent ask my wife at 4:15am for me by my legal first name (which I never use) and last name. When I answered the phone person hung up. I believe the post about the moster.com was correct. That is the only place on the internet I have posted my First legal name and where my phone# is available to others. Check moster.com!!!!
