it's sallie mae? why don't they leave messages when they call from this number? I thought it was them but it's a 718 number which is right here in nyc. i thought it was a real person i don't know.

Sallie Mae is the original creditor - not a 3rd party collection agency.  

FDCPA does not apply to original creditors.

Sallie Mae uses all kinds of tactics.  Somehow the caller got my parents phone number and tricked my dad into thinking he was my friend and my dad gave out my cell number.  Those a-holes.

Sallie Mae has resorted to calling my mother's cell phone, and she gets charged for her minutes! I did not think ANY collection agency could call a cell number unless the number was given to them as a contact number! Please, make them stop!

Yea,Sallie Mae has been a huge pain in my a**! They are unwilling to help me and call at least 15-20x a day! And all I get are recorded mssgs,so there is never a live person on the other end! Warning to EVERYONE, DO NOT USE Sallie Mae for ANY reason!!

Sallie Mae is bad news and yep, that number is them.  I wonder how illegal their actions are?  They definitely do harass people.

I have told them I do not know the person they are trying to reach. I have emailed them and told them to remove my number to no avail.
