This is an Energy Supply Company (ESCO) named Energy Solutions. (Thanks to the market deregulation of electricity in New York State, other companies can call and get a piece of your electric business.)

I called her back and asked for their Con Ed acct # so I could save them $ on their electric bill. She was not amused.  :)

Wed., Nov. 13, 2013 at 4:38 p.m. eastern.  I received a call at my work number (not my home number) followed by a voice mail from (718) 508-4868 stating precisely as follows:  "This is Sara with City Power.  I am calling with regards to the Con Ed account.  I need you to return my call at 877-518-9339.  My extension is 235.  I'm in my office Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  And, please have your Con Ed bill in hand when you return my call.  Thank you."  I have no involvement with the administrative side of our giant business, so a call out of the blue to my direct number suggesting I have involvement with electricity payments obviously raises a red flag.  I suspect this is an entity that tries to trick consumers into calling and then uses sales pressure tactics to have them switch to a new power provider using the Con Ed distribution system.  Very oily . . . .

Now that is one way to get rid of them. lol

They called and asked about my National Grid gas account.  I told them I use a wood stove!!

Interesting... They called me and told me my bill was behind at my company address and had gone to collections. Problem is that the only thing I have at that address is a PO Box. I rent a UPS store box and that is how they found me. Funny I don't have any lights in that box. LOL...

National Grid scam call.  Wants your acct#

National Grid, wants to ask about a rebate they sent me, which doesn't exist.  Gave me their name number and extension and asked that I have my bill in front of me when I call back, which I won't.

They called, waited to hear who they called, then promptly hung up.  I was wondering what it was all about, and by looking it up, I found this.

They are not from ConEd...they ask for your ConEd account number to have access to your account and change providers...it is a scam

Calling from Energy Solutions, wanted to speak to the person that handles the energy bill. This is just another ESCO scam.

Can you speak to the person that handles the Con Ed bill? No, no you can't, because my gas and electric are included in my rent. Please don't give this charlatan any information. If they were legit, would they call from an UNKNOWN NUMBER?

They need to stop calling!!!!!

They called saying they were from City Power ( which is an ESCO), and that it was an urgent matter!!its just a hard sell/scam

I knew this caller was a scammer since she said she was from the National Grid which I know is a generic term.  Besides my building does not even have metered gas/electricity so when she told me it was about my account, I knew it was a scam artist.  

Anyway, to play along with her.  She told me it was about problems with my gas bill.  I thanked her profusely and said she called at a great time.  I had just eaten some burritos for lunch and had lots of excess gas.  Then she said "No sir, it's about your gas bill".  I said "Ma'am, don't worry about the bill as I understand that if I had excess gas from eating burritos that I should be charged.  Besides my roommates won't even talk to me anymore."  She kept on insisting that she wanted to talk about a gas bill and I kept on repeating that I had burritos for lunch.  I then offered to put the receiver next to my butt if she wanted proof of my excess gas.  She then hung up.  Don't think she'll call again

Hi Nichole, this is me not calling you back.  Thank you for leaving a message on my answering machine.  It is particularly thoughtful since I have asked your company numerous times not to call my home.  You must have gone out of your way to not heed my request.  Also than you for telling me about your needs (you need me to return your call).  Let me share with you my needs.  I need you to consider another line of work or to just cut to the chase and consider suicide.  This line of work adds no value to the world but since you have chosen such a worthless career I suppose you have already given up on life.  And since you have already given up on life why not just go ahead and kill yourself.  Nobody would miss you, particularly not those people who you are trying to scam into buying electricity from your company by lying about saving them money when in fact you charge more.  Oh, did I forget to mention that I think you should kill yourself?  Have a nice day.

I respond "Thank you for sharing your needs with me." and I hear nothing so then hang up.
These a***oles keep calling saying they are going to save me money on my electric bill and even go as far as to say that they are Con Edison (which they are not).  The call using many different caller ID names and numbers, and clearly do not take me off of their list when requested.  When I have time I string them along asking all sorts of questions which usually culminate with them figuring out that I am just jerking them arround and they hang up... but I do it becuase it is fun and also beucase it means they are unable to make more calls as long as I have them...

Called today claiming from City Power and Electric. I thought something was fishy but unfortunately gave them my account number. After saying yes to him I then I told the guy I was not interested and that I needed to get off the phone as it was my business line...hung up on him. Scammers.

Never picked up - I guess they will keep annoying me. Nice to have a do not call list. All the sc*mbags ignore it (like these guys).

Called and left a message about my Duke energy account and gas savings. I don't even have gas at my office not to mention the call is from Brooklyn and I am in Ohio. So much for the do not call registry.

This person keeps calling about a natural gas bil...There has never been natural gas on the property this individual is calling about. I called back busy at first then just rings.

I received a call from that number.  They left a message saying they needed to talk to us about our Duke Energy bill.  I knew there shouldn't be an issue with our Duke bill but I called the number that was left on the message.  It was a sales pitch for Future Now Energy.
