I just this phone call a few minutes ago and decided to google the number because it seemed suspicious. As soon as I said the home owner wasn't home and the guy still insisted on talking to me, the daughter, I knew it was sketchy. Almost no one continues talking to someone other than the home owner. Same thing as most of these about "Microsoft" and about "spyware getting into my computer day by day". I told them to call back in two hours because I hadn't googled it yet so I wasn't entirely sure it was fake, but now that I am I'm going to inform my parents not to answer the number when they call back. Even if Microsoft DID call people, which they don't, then call display would definitely say "Microsoft". Stupid nonsense.

These idiots are just trying to get your personal information. There is NO WAY for them to know your computer has issues... and if they did hack your computer they wouldn't call you about it... they'd just cause the harm and not tell you about it.

I keep getting phone calls from this number.  Heavy accent.  Today's call was by "James", I asked for his department phone number and he gave me a number that had too many numbers to be one.  I then asked where he is calling from, he said Huston Texas, which is also untrue.  His call was about a problem with my computer and an error message that they "at Windows" have been receiving from me for the past 5 weeks.  I told him that I did not believe the sincerity of is claim and asked what the error message was.  At this point he hung up.

Yep just got the call as well, same deal as most of you though it was definitely a VoIP call of sorts because it was breaking up the same way a Skype call does with low bandwidth.

I could barely make out what the guy was saying but he was getting agitated that I couldn't hear him properly, then I make the words "have you got a computer", to which I responded "yes, why?" and which point the line was so bad he gave up, said good bye and hung up.

It's a scam. Would love to trap him.

Same story... Man with poor English with heavy Indian/Pakistani accent claiming to be from the "Computer technical department" called to tell me my Windows system was about to crash and that he could fix it remotely.  I asked him what version of Windows I'm running and what the IP address is.  Silence.  I then told him I had noted his number and that if he called again I would take action.  He hung up immediately.  I waited a few minutes and called the number back...and surpringly he answered.  I told him I wanted to make sure he undedstood I was not joking about going after him if he called again.  He again hung up immediately.  Scammers...I wish there was an easy way to eradicate this vermine.

These callers pretending to work with Microsoft are Pakistanese, they are a group that are doing these SCAMS.Last night (around 9;45 PM I got the fouth call from them. I had the presence ofmind after to dial *69 to find where these calls come from and this is how I ended up here. First, when all this started, they usedthe same line that my computer had some files that where sending messages to their servers, then my mail account got blocked (they messed up the password, then persistently they want to access my computer. I reserve a big surprise for them on the next occasion ! Badabing-Badaboom . Hell is just around the corner people.

My husband got a call from this number an hour ago to say that something was wrong with my husband's PC.   The caller said that he was from Microsoft and even had the license number of the Microsoft on my husband's computer.  The caller gave him a website to go to but as my husband typed the address, a message from Mcafee warned him not to.  When he told the caller about it the man became agitated and started calling my husband an a.....e.   I'm sure he was thinking how close he was in snaring another victim.

I just got one of these calls.....I told him I couldn't hear him well which was true....I think he said he was from an online service of some sort.    Earlier I had a call from a different number, also a scam, but I wasn't home to answer it.   A couple of times this week I got calls from the cardmember service offering to lower my interest rate. They hang up when I try to talk to them and I cannot make them stop.    There must be a way, but does anyone know what it is.

this is for sure a scam! My husband is a computer tech and I know I have no problems with my computer. I myself had just got a call and the same as everyone else it was a middle eastern guy telling me something is wrong with my computer. My solution to it is tell them you do not understand why they would be calling you because you don't have a computer. They freak out the minute I tell them

I was called 5/11/2012 about 10:15 am.  A guy with an Indian accent "from Microsoft" wanted to help me me "fix" my computer.  The first step he wanted me to do was windows key plus "r" together.  I didn't do it, and hung up.
