I will give you one thing, you've got balls.  Now when you show to my door I'm likely just to kick your a** and torture you for 7 hours or was it 30-45 minutes?  I forget, but does it really matter?

You think you are doing people a favor but what you are really doing is illegal in Colorado.

Looking forward to you showing up at my house.

Colorado may appear to be turning into a socialist state like the rest of the country but I'll guarantee one thing, you find find that crap at my house.  Take responsibility for your actions and live within both the spirit and intent of the law or pay the price.  Your choice.

So these jokers have been calling and won't take me off there list here are the calls so far this year I have asked them and I have pressed numbers to have my number removed. I am so sick and tired of them. I have been on the do not call since it was started but it helps little. Time to start fighting back so this latest round I thought that I would play along a waste as much of their time as possible.

So on 10/6 I took their fake survey, when they told me about the drawing I even told them not to enter me, but sure enough on 10/11 I was called and told I won. I asked a few questions about the "gifts" which they said were from an online retailer, that was "similar to Sear,Walmart", etc.

When I asked if they could just email or mail me the gifts they said that their driver would drop them by and ask us (wife had to be there also) about a product the "blue max air 2000 air cleaner" at which point I ask about her company and she pointed me to C&K  Distr http://www.bbb.org/southern-colorado/business ... ings-co-5720600 . So I have filed a complaint there as well.

In the end they rescheduled several times before the real driver call. After a getting him to drive out into the country where we live I let him know that I was just jerking him around and then told hm that I was on the do not call list and to tell his company to take me off there list.

So maybe this time they will follow the law and stop calling me. But if not I will jerk them around again, this maybe our only way to stop them since the Government does not inforce the NDNCR. I ask you to do what you can to make them sorry for calling people on the NDNCR.

Ok, I went ahead and had one of the reps come over.  It was indeed a Silver King vacuum salesman.  He was nice enough and he did not put up any resistance when I told him to speed up the presentation when it started to get long.  He left after about an hour total.  Now of course I only did this to see what the gifts might be.  I think calling them crap is putting a silver lining on it.  $500 credit towards junk, a very limited selection of junk even, and the catch is (if you happened to want some junk) is that the shipping and handling is probably a little more then what any individual piece of junk is worth.  The vacation package is comical.  You have to pick 3 places and they will tell you which one is open...$50 deposit...yada yada.  You know the crap.  And the coupons, not even touching that.  I consider myself wiser for all of this, my curiosity sated, but that is all I got out of it.  I am now waiting patiently to see if I get more calls or solicitors as a result of all this.  If that is the case then I will be wiser, and angry, which will not bode well for them.  But for now, lesson learned.

Adding to my post about my experience in Austin on Feb. 29, 2012:
The questions also included what vacuum cleaner I used--what brand, possibly also how old it was.

Today is Wed., Feb. 29th 2012, around 6:45 pm and I just got the call in Austin, TX. Since I don't have caller ID I cannot verify what number it was from but the pleasant young lady (who gave many compliments) said she was taking a 60 second blahbah health survey (all I heard was the word health) and could I answer a few questions.  After asking about smoking, pets, allergies, she veered into car make, length of car ownership, credit card preferences, occupation, length of occupation and ethnicity of my last name...Twice during that I asked....Hey--You said this was a HEALTH survey? And she said "consumer and health"   I was by then suspicious and regretting the small amt of info I had given.  When she got to the part about entering me into the free drawing, I said I did not want to be entered, don't put me in it, don't have anyone call me and I am on the do not call list, so please remove my number.  She said there was little chance I'd win anyway and I said I don't care, don't have anyone call me.  She then tried to get off the phone and I kept asking questions about who this is, why, and don't put me on the list.  Finally I let her go.
This kind of thing can sucker people into giving a bunch of personal information.

Problem:  My state health dept just sent me a letter saying they were going to be doing a survey, so I was doubly suckered into answering these questions.
That was my experience.  If they call back, I'll report them.

So, there is no sales pitch at the end?  Yeah right.  Your company has been doing "research" on this particular air purifer product for over three years?  Yeah right.

so, Mr. Anonymous, if you're so proud of your job and the company you work for, why not spew the truth? Your company is dishonest right from the start, by saying they are a "research" company. Your "research" questions are bogus, because you already know who you're calling before you call. You don't care whether I'm black, white, a rich old fart, a commie or otherwise....you just want to try to sell me something.  And, if you're trying to sell me something initiated by a phone call, you're breaking the law, no matter how you might look at it.

Interesting...nobody actually went through with it.

Before I start, you should probably know that I work for them. Take that as you will...but I assure you that I am not a con artist, and we are not trying to scam you into anything. You might even find me very pleasant. I promise, I'm not a hideous monster...

So here's how it works:

1. You'll get a phone call from someone asking to answer a few questions. These aren't personal questions or anything even suspicious. Just as we tell you, these questions are for demographic research.

***I should mention that the people you talk to over the phone are not exactly the cream of the crop. Brain surgeons don't usually earn minimum wage talking on the phone all day. In other words, you aren't talking to the most employable of people. So cut them a little slack, because they're just trying to make a living.

2. You've won the $500 shopping spree (or maybe a 2 night hotel stay or maybe $10 of gasoline). Hooray!! Hmm...maybe some red flags? I don't blame you. But guess what guys; this isn't a trick either. It's legitimate.

3. Now we get to the fun part. I'm going to show up with your gifts. But when I get there, I'll ask if you could check out this new product and tell me what you think. It takes me about 7 hours and the questionnaire is 250 questions. Very grueling.

Nah I'm just kidding...it's like 30-45 minutes and you'll answer 11 questions. It's not that bad....Do you like it? What do you think we should change?

Before you ask, no I'm not going to tell you what it is right now. You'll just have to wait and see. I know you guys are busy. But if you want to skip American Idol one night, you might have more fun talking to me.

I just got the called from a withheld number. She said she was from CNK, someone had come to my house a few days before and asked us a few questions about what gas we use what credit cards we us, bleh bleh. He said it would enter us in 100$ gas voucher. So the lady said she would need us to both be there so we could see some cleaning tool and asked what time I would be home and it would take about 45 min. I asked her what company she was from, and why her number was withheld. She had no clue..I asked her how they hire for the company she said "Oh they just go door to door" Again I asked how do you find the people to do it. "She said I don't know they just ask to do it?" She wanted to know my car, the year what pets I had in my home and when we would be home. I hung up on her, Be careful of people like this.

Not sure if this is the number (don't have caller ID)--but it's the same company. I, too, got this call this morning. Man identified himself as "Brian with CNK Research" and asked if I would participate in a quick, 60-second survey. When I asked who the survey was for, he again gave me the name of his company--but I persisted (knowing that I'm on the Do-Not-Call list) with, "Yes but for whom are you conducting this survey?" He replied, "Consumer Reports." Well, since I have an account with THEM, I didn't really think anything about it (since companies you do business with may call you if you've given permission).

The questions went just as described by everyone here: pet? allergies/asthma? married? profession? car is foreign or domestic (NOT asking for my make and model)? and he never asked for any personally identifiable information (to verify my address, birthday, etc.) that would have set off red flags.  The last question was asking what brand vaccuum I use.

Since all of this seemed like a "consumer reports"-type of survey, I was not immediately suspicious. He gave me the same line about "You will be entered for a random drawing for participating in the survey and may be contacted should you win." I asked for his name and information---and when he gave me again "Brian w/ CNK Research in Colorado Springs, CO" (WITHOUT A PHONE #), gave me a 'thank you for your time' and disconnected---THAT'S when I got suspicious, and googled it. This site was first up and now I'm glad I thought a little bit more about it!

I can't wait for someone to try to call me back telling me I've "WON" :-)  Think I'll be ready thanks to all your posts!  THANKS and good luck!

Got a call to do 60 second survey.  Should have hung up or said I wasn't interested right then.  Took the survey and they called today.  I made an appointment for a week from Saturday.  I'll call and cancel. I hate these things and I always think it might be someone who works on commission on calls so I don't want them to lose out.  Get suckered in every time.

Yes, of coarse I was entered into the drawing and won the $500 gift certificate and vacation!!  I guess anyone that takes the survey wins.  CNK Research 1-719-574-8085

Well the prize delivery guy did not show at 1:00 pm.  At 1:15 pm we had a phone message to confirm our 1:00 pm appointment.  I called them back but only got a recorded message.  I had the opportunity to leave a message, but I didn't.  CNK called back about 2:00 pm to tell me that their guy was running late, but they could send someone else.  Sorry!  No go, I was too busy to entertain a 30 minute demonstration of an air purifier.  How could I give an informed opinion on a product in 30 minutes.  Let me have it for 30 days, maybe I will use it and let them know what I think.

Well, I was pressured to let someone come out.  "They can come as late as 9:00 pm" so says the woman on the phone.  I told her that would be "too late" to have someone come out.  So I rescheduled for a week later.  But, I live in the middle of no where.  She did not want any detailed directions.

After reading these posts, I called the above number and left a message to cancel my upcoming appointment.  I will bet that it won't be canceled.  So, if and when anyone shows up, we will just tell him to take his air purifier and go bye-bye.

Same story.  I got a call from CNK with the phone number 574-8085.  Got the call back a few days later about winning the prize ($500 gift used at a specific website and a free trip), but we'd need to have a representative come to the house to show both my wife and I the "Air 2000" purifier.

These people skirt the Do Not Call (DNC) rules because it's a survey.  Surveys, political calls and charities are exceptions to the DNC rules.  By saying they are not selling anything even up and to the visit, then they are not technically breaking DNC rules.  Pretty creative for a telemarketer, but annoying just the same.

Regarding KMAX at 719-637-3401 and the other numbers listed here.  I am also on the no-call list and they called.  Do what I just did and file a complaint at https://www.donotcall.gov.  Maybe this'll get them to stop.

Got a call from "C K Distr" 719-591-1870.  Didn't answer it.  They didn't leave a message.  Did a reverse look-up at dexknows.com and found it's an unlisted number that is linked to a land line in downtown Colorado Springs.  Googled CK Distribution, Inc.  Found out they are a telemarketer.  Further discovered they are a BBB company with an A+ certification...  More information on them available at http://www.bbb.org/southern-colorado/business ... ings-co-5720600  Including the owner's name and contact information.  Further discovered rhe Colorado Do Not Call List has been delivered to them, and they are supposed to follow it.  If you are registered, and they call you, report them and have them fined.  Found their website, but didn't access it.  It's been tagged as a dangerous site with a poor reputation.  Sounds like their BBB A+ certification is not well deserved.

Same idea:  wanted to conduct a 60 second survey; first question was "does anyone in the house smoke".  I told the guy I didn't have time right now and he was persistent to the point of harassment...he just kept saying, "it'll just take 60 seconds...you can't spare 60 seconds?", as if it were a game to keep me on the line as long as he possibly could.  I finally told him that I was going to have to hang up on him, and as I did so he was still talking away trying to keep me on!

This company does not deserve a good rating with the BBB!  They deserve to be written up in the Gazette as a harassment scheme so that people are warned!

I too have been bothered by this KMAX company. Although the number on my caller ID is different from the others I've seen on this message board. The number is 719-574-8085. My story is the same as the others. I also "won" gifts, but they won't mail them to you. They want to present them to you in person so they can sucker you in to buying whatever it is they are peddling. In my case, it was a home air purifier or something like that. Like an idiot I agreed to meet with them in my home after they harrassed me. Then I got to thinking that was stupid I gave in cause I knew good and well I wasn't going to get suckered into buying anything. So I just wasn't home at the scheduled appt time.
I have a feeling they are going to continue to bother me now though. DO NOT TAKE THE SURVEY OVER THE PHONE!!
