I didn't answer and it was disconnected when I called it back

I received an unsolicited telemarketing call from this number, supposedly from a company called Screen My Lender, regarding re-financing.
I also followed-up with a return call and got the # disconnected message.
And my cell phone is on the DO NOT CALL list!

I keep getting calls from these a-holes, too. Same here when I call back...the number's disconnected. Probably a spoof number and not the actual number. Can't wait til I can actually answer when they call...they are going to get an earful of 4 letter words!

Got a call man said he was working with screen my lender .com and doing stimulus work to lower people's home interest rate. be aware he has looked at your credit report already and knows the current status of your loan. Be aware I am a realtor and this makes me angry. No information available on internet.

I just called by this number too. And guess what? I am in the process of possibly buying a house in CO and a mortgage broker did a preliminary loan approval today, which involved of course doing a credit search. The timing is suspicious and scary.

| FL 2011-06-06 20:55:51 Unknown |
I also received a call from this caller. I am in Florida so they seem to be calling all over the US. I also get the "disconnected" recording, but although have a bunch of forums complaining about these calls, not a lot of information on how to stop them. We recently bought a house and are thinking that we may be on a list for that.
| Gigi 2011-06-06 20:55:51 Unknown |
This is my second phone call and each time when I call back it's disconnected. We just put our house on the market and I live in FL. I can only imagine they will keep calling until I tell them to stop! Great....

I own a company that purchased leads from Screen My Lender. Now I realize why the leads were such crap because they are simply calling people unsolicited and slapping us on the phone with them. Anyone thinking of purchasing leads from SCREEN MY LENDER absolutely DO NOT no matter how much BS they give you. Spent thousands with them, didn't get anything in return. Better lead sources are much easier to find. STAY AWAY FROM SCREEN MY LENDER!!!

Wow! I'm glad I researched this before returning a call to "Screen My Lender". I happen to be a Mortgage Broker in Pensacola, Florida. A call came in from this company and the message I received indicated that the caller was with "Screen My Lender" and that they had clients they wanted to refer to me. The message also stated that the caller claims to be with a "consumer advocacy group" and only refers clients to Brokers or Lenders with no predatory practice violations. Since I'm in the business, I can tell you all what I think this is. This is nothing more than creative telemarketing, whereby the marketers solicit consumers interested in getting a mortgage, then they sell the leads to retail Brokers and Lenders like me. I don't buy leads and most reputable Brokers/Lenders don't either. If you're good at what you do, you don't have to buy leads. My advice to anyone looking to get a mortgage to buy or refinance a home - find a local provider. You shouldn't have any problem getting a referral to someone who knows what they're doing. A good place to call to get an honest referral? Call some local Title Companies or Real Estate law firms that do residential closings. Closing agents are the ones who have to bear the wrath of consumers who didn't get treated right by their Realtor or Mortgage Broker. Closing agents will tell you where to go to get the best product and service. A loophole in the Fair and Accurate Credit Reporting Act (FACRA) allows the credit repositories (Equifax, TransUnion and Experian) to sell the information of a credit inquiry to credit marketers. In the industry, this is called a "trigger-lead". That's why you get inundated with credit offers the day after you apply for credit. It should be illegal, but right now it's not. Be pro-active and call your Congressional Representative and ask him/her to support or sponsor new legislation that will outlaw the sale of trigger-leads. Google trigger leads and you'll see what I'm talking about. Ya'll get tough now - ya hear!

They keep calling my cell asking for my husband by name. When they find out it is my cell they say sorry and hang up. I can't keep them on long enough to tell them to pull my number off their dang list.

Received inbound call on home line; no message left, just the phone ID that references Colorado Spgs in the window. Did not call back, figured it was a scammer or TM firm.

I just got one on my cell phone (I didn't answer in time). They didn't leave a message. Are others getting them on their cell phone or land line? I thought tele-marketing to cell phones was illegal--is that what they are?
Also, are they targeting certain areas? My phone has a 571 area code.
