received text on Sprint phone.  "customer issue, us bank service frozen, please call at 720 221 8081"

Most texts from Sprint Customer service come with 9909 at the top as the number.  This one was 9099 instead.  Scam of some sort I am sure as when you call the number back it simply asks for your 16 digit card number.  No option to speak to anyone.  Big suprise there huh.....

i keep getting things like this all of the time from the 9099.  i also get IM's to my phone via text that are spam.

I receive the following message frequently from 9099 to my Sprint cell phone:


"customer issue, us bank service frozen, please call at 720 221 8081"

Received same text message on my sprint phone. Called the number from a landline and apparently "Mario" was not available to take the call, but I did have the opportunity to talk with the answering machine. It is a scam.

Got this same call on Jan. 15, 2010 at 757 a.m. I did not send money to Haiti via cell or email. And get this -- I have blocked all text messages to my phone more than a year ago. HOW DID I EVEN GET THIS TEXT????

My husband received one like this jan 16-3:00 PM--we did not return the call--was sure it was a scam

Yes, receieved the same text message. Called number from Landline and apparently the individual "Mario" was able to come to the phone. It is a scam and nothing to do with USBank.

same thing frozen bank account I replied to them remove me from do not call list and that i would report them 720 221 8081

Got the same message, called U.S. Bank and they confirmed that it was a scam.  Ridiculous.

How can they get our phone #s?  I am on the national no-call list for home and cell phones.

I recvd call and texted back what?? the text id does not receive responses.

Talked to US bank (even though I don't have an account with them) and they said their phones are ringing off the hook from people reporting this.

Is this only going to Sprint users?? I also got the message "customer issue, us bank service frozen. please call at 720 221 8081"  I know this is a scam cause I've gotten these type of texts from the number 9099 before around Christmas...plus I am not, nor have I ever been, a US Bank customer. haha idiot scammers...

FYI, that text # to donate towards helping Haiti is 90999...coincidence?

got a text as many did.  called the number and put in bogus numbers repeatedly, just keeps cycling and no one ever comes on the line.  ridiculous!  i hate people.  get a lame as job like the rest of us and earn money the honest way.  f*** you scammers!!  scum of the earth!!!

I'm on Virgin Mobile service and got this as well.

Received the same text message that you all got.  "9099: Customer issue.  us bank service frozen. please call at 720 221 8081. I just got off the phone with sprint if you or anyone you know recieve this message forward it immediately to abuse@messaging.sprintpcs.com. Sprint is in the process of investigating it.

Just got a text....same message...luckily, I checked my account online before I did anything else.  What a crock!

I just got the text message as well at 11:20 am CDT.

Ditto here.  I'm a Sprint user with a usbank account.  Didn't recognize the number as belonging to usbank & you all have confirmed that for me.  Thanks.
