I received the same call at roughly 1:00 p.m. on Sept 25, 2012. The automated call said it was from a DMV review. On occasion, I know that some government agencies issue good government calls (e.g. Secretary of State regarding voter registration), so I proceeded. The representative who picked up asked me how many calls I wanted to insure. I immediately asked for company identifying information and she hung up.

I called back again and again and got the same representative repeatedly - Nicole. She refused to ever give me the name of the company beyond "The Insurance Center." She would not supply an address, website, or supervisor. She would not answer what insurers were being represented. She hungup multiple times on me. Eventually she told me that I could contact "Charlie Rangler" at 1700 Logan St, Denver, CO. That is the address of The Wrangler Bar in Denver that caters to gay men and women - what I'm sure she meant as an insult (though, it is the gay community that should be insulted by being involunarily associated with such a compnay).

I have reported the call to the Colorado Attorney General, both for consumer fraud and violating the No-Call statutes. I urge everyone else to report them too because an investigation will occur after three complaints on the same business. The reports can be filed here:

I received a call while I was in a meeting at work from 720-278-7718. It was what others above described as saying they got information from the DMV that I'm paying too much for car insurance. I hung up at that point. I am on the do not call registry. I don't know how they got my number. That's the most disconcerting thing.

I got a call 9/17 about 4pm on my cell phone, which registered on the do not call list.

It begins something like, "this is a public service announcement...that you may be paying too much on your car insurance!" I hung up after that

i got a call sept 17th, 2012 at 3:35pm on my cell phone (which is on the do-not-call list).  it was the same message as described in other notes here - an offer to pay less on insurance and press 1 to talk to an agent.  i did, so i could ask why they were calling me, but after 30 seconds on hold the call disconnected without me ever getting to talk to anyone.

On September 13, 2012 at 08:54 MDT I received a call from this number. It was a recorded message stating that there has been a review of department of motor vehicle records and I am currently paying too much in automotive insurance. The recording then requested that I press 1 to speak to an agent.

I pressed 1 and was immediately greeted by a person who asked how many vehicles I'd like to insure. I advised that my number is listed on the national do not call registry and I would need some information. I asked for the company name and telephone number. The agent apologized and said she would remove my number from the list. I persisted and asked again for the company name. She replied "Insurance Center". I asked again for the telephone number and she advised that "The number on your phone is the correct one." I asked for the company address and she terminated the call.

I have filed complaints with the National and Colorado-state do not call registry websites.

Robo call about lowering my insurance rates on my car. "Press one now" it says and then it hangs up. Even if I fell for it, I couldn't lower my rates. Brilliant.
