I received a call from a restricted number they then gave me the number 1-855-480-7871 for my husband to call. They have threatened to have county cops called on myself and my husband. They state they are an attorneys office and give an address where there are 3 attorney's offices, I called all three none of them are associated. This is a scam! You can block their numbers but they may start calling from restricted numbers and sometimes those are bypassed by your blockage.

first you need to stop calling on old out of limitation debts.  You are a bottom feeder and threats will get you into trouble with the FTC.  I have already turned you into the FTC and the Attorney General. It is a matter of time before you find yourself into the trouble you deserve.  Have a nice day Ms. Melissa Sanford of Western Portfolio Management

Got a call threatening my county's police involvement if I didn't call back and give them my SSN...called my county's non-emergency police line, reported the call, and was assured I had no warrants/complaints outstanding and the call was a scam. Western Portfolio's response to 'annoyed' is ridiculous; you type like a nine-year-old. P.S. I work at a collection agency and we're not allowed to hang up on a customer at ANY point, no matter how heated it gets. Scam #.

The company does not exist and is a scam.  If you ever took out a payday loan they got a hold of your information and will continue to call.  block all of the numbers they call you from.  don't call back. ignore.  a legitimate debt has to be mailed to you by law. There are annoying calls but ignore.

don't entertain them and refer to this link:http://www.bbb.org/blog/2013/03/beware-debt-collection-phone-scams/

This is such a joke... she actually thinks that by posting this nonsense it will legitimize them. Don't be scammed. THEY ARE SCAMMERS. I cant wait for the day I see them getting arrested on American Greed or something. It has gotten out of hand and make sure to file a complaint with the FTC every single time you get a call. Lets work together to stop these scams once and for all.

There was a human error with the phone # here at Western Portfolio Management and it has been corrected. 855-326-5717 is the correct business #. This is a legitament business and collect on legitament accounts. If your # is being called and we have the wrong # just call us and we will remove it. We are not in business to waste time and money calling wrong #s. We apologize if you fall into the wrong # category we only call the #s that our givin to us but it is an easy fix. As for if you do owe a debt you can call us and work out a plan to get your account paid off

Same exact message as yesterday's call from 8553265717. Exactly. In fact the callback number was the same as the message yesterday. Yesterday's callback number was just the last 3 digits rearranged, which I find very suspicious. I think it's just another set of scammer tricks. I've never received anything in the mail ever about these weird "debts". I know which 2 companies I owe and they do not engage in this type of behavior. Besides, they can't legally "serve notice" via telephone. Serve notice on what?! UGH make them stop.

I learned that a company has been calling my old employer trying to reach me. Mind you, I have had the same cell number for 12 years and have used this number as my home number for the majority of that time (so it is my primary contact number). So I'm curious as to why anyone would continue to contact an old employer who has continued to indicate I no longer work there, rather than calling my primary number. In any case, I digress. So I call both the numbers provided to my old employer after looking both of them up as well as the company name they provided.  One of them was not a good number (855) 326-5171.  The other, 720-278-7846, some woman answered the phone, "Ms. Somethingorother". I asked where I was calling and the woman put me on hold, then came back on the line and announced where she was from....odd.  Did she have to think about where she worked?  She indicated she was calling from Management Solutions. Not the same name provided to my previous employer when they called. She indicated to me that she received my file 10 days ago and that they were calling re: an old bank account on which there were overdraft charges. The account was closed in 2004. I explained that responsibility for the account was assigned to my now ex husband during the divorce proceedings. Now, I know that finance companies, banks, bill collectors, etc do not honor divorce decrees when trying to extort money from anyone, however, I informed the woman that I was not going to do anything about this particular account. Not only was the debt almost 10 years old and the statute of limitations had run years ago, but it was my ex's responsibility. She began rambling on about how it would effect my credit..yadda yadda...not that my credit could get any worse after the divorce. So I interrupted her and told her that I would make this easy for her and end the call quickly...she didn't let me finish...got all huffy and said SHE would end the call quickly and yelled, "You don't have any power!" and hung up. Long story short...if this was a legitimate debt collection call, the woman sure as heck isn't getting any money from anyone by hanging up on people. Nice customer service lady!! Also, most legitimate debt collectors will do almost anything to keep you on the phone to convince you to pay on the debt.
