This phone number also called me this morning... The first time I didn't answer it because I didn't recognize the number.  The second time I picked up and then hung up right away and that was the last time it called.

Called me twice, from two different numbers, both around 10pm.  First time it was Farmers and Merchants about my credit card (do not bank with them).  Second time it was 1st Federal (do not bank with them either). The first phone number was traced back to a contractor in Virginia, are these scammers stealing or tapping other companies phone lines and using them?

This number came in on my cell phone and I live on the West Slope of Colorado.  I recognized it as a hoax and hung up.  Wish there was some way to hold the scamming party accountable!  I am posting this here to warn others and will look at what I can do otherwise to help get it stopped.

I received a call from this number at 11 pm last night.
I listened to the message.  The recording said that my visa/master card credit card has been used by a 3rd Party and they needed to contact me to get more info.  It said to press 1.  I did and then it asked me to punch in my credit card number.  THIS IS A HOAX.  They are trying to get your cc information.  Remember, if you bank calls you about your card, they have your number.

I received a call from 720-891-4962 at 6:09am and did not answer.  I called the number back because my husband said he received the same call a few days ago.  No one answered, and the message said it had been disconnected- from four minutes ago?

While writing this, my father also got a call asking for his credit card number.

This number called both my wife's and my cell phone between 5 & 6 AM this morning, and we don't give our cell numbers to many people.

Got a call from this number at 6:37 AM today.  Did not recognize it, so did not answer it.  Got online and found this site with your comments.  I do not have a credit union nor anything in Colorado either.  I was dead asleep just returning from a trip last night.  Thanks for this site and comments so I know who to be pissed off at.

Scam. Scam. Scam.
I pushed 1 and the "computer voice" asked for my ATM card number.  Gee, if it were my bank, they would already know that, right?  These are evil people. Don't give out any information to them.

I received a call yesterday afternoon and listened to the recording.  It mentioned my debit card had issues from First Dakota bank (which I dont use) and to press 1 to verify.  I hung up.  Then i was curious and dialed the number myself, and got an operator recording that the number is invalid.  many people I work with have received similar calls but from different numbers in the last few days.

My computer was very recently infected with "Spyware Protect 2009."  About 24 hrs after infection, my husband's cell received a call from 770-965-xxxx(for a company in Georgia - I suspect the phone number was somehow spoofed or hijacked).  It was an automated message, he said they mentioned our credit union and that our online account had been inactivated, for us to call the security dept.  He said that there was no phone number left.  (I wish I'd heard the message myself, I suspect it was asking him to give a pin or something as well).  At the same time I had a call on my cell from this 720-891-4962 number.  I didn't pick up the call so don't know what it would have said.  Anyway, I suspect my call from this number was as result of my computer being infected.  Advice: run a spyware scan on your computer!

I received this phone call also and it was an automated line from an actual Credit Union that I do have an account with.  Unfortunately I ended up giving them my number and it didn't click that after wards that it didn't make sense. So I called my "real Credit Union" and they verified that the number that called me was a scam.  So they immediately canceled my Check Card number and pin. So in the event that the numbers I punched into the automated teller were to be processed they would receive a dead account number. This pisses me off to no end.  I was thankful that I called me real bank and told them the story before my account could have been potentially wiped clean.

I hope no one else falls for this and if so please notify your banks that you do business with so they can immediately take the necessary actions to close your account number down and furnish you a new number right away.

This number called at 1am in the morning with a similar recording. Calling the number back results in the phone company recording that the number cannot be completed. The Government registry of unwanted calls is a joke.

This number has called my phone 4x this morning - every 5 minutes. It says it is a local bank (but not the one I use) and my debit card has been canceled. It asks me to press 1 to have to re-activated. Odd since I am in Michigan and it's a Colorado area code.

Call came in at Wed 27 May at  4:46 AM.  Claimed a 3rd Party had accessed my account and to Re-Activate my account I needed to Verify my Account # and PIN #.  I Hung Up. This is about the 4th or 5th time I have gotten a Call from this number - They never leave a Voice Mail either.

I am reporting this to my CELL Carrier to Block the Number from the Carrier.  I suggest  everybody else do this also.

Got a call yesterday on both mine and my husbands cells within 2 minutes of each other. We didn't recognize the number on the ID so we didn't answer. When he called the number back it said you've reached a number not in service.  We've received three of these calls in two days from three different numbers.
