a move in deposit and I will like him/her to assure me that the house
will be properly managed. Concerning the lease, duration is minimum of
6 months, 12 months or according to the wish of -tenant need. I have
received some proposals regarding the rent because it is located in a

After that I requested to speak with them on the phone and got a text from a different number than the one listed on trulia, postlets, & hotpads. In the text they didn't even put my correct name! Such a disgrace to use people in such a way and to use god's name in such a shameful way.

The scam is still going on, I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one sucked in initially (thankfully I did not send any money). This time he/she claimed to be Don C Bell, (who is listed as the appropriate owner of the home in Dallas, TX) however the home is also listed for sale on Trulia (which might be where he/she got the pictures, info, etc) I was being asked to send money to his attorney named Jacqueline Burgy-Futrell, who does exist-according to facebook- however she has a past work history of being an assistant manager at a Domino's, not an attorney. It makes me wonder if she is the culprit? Who knows, but now I'm waiting to see how "he" responds to my request for his attorney's work address and phone number to verify her information. So thankful for the internet helping me discover this scam before it was too late!!

These idiots are working in the Tampa Bay area of Florida now!  They are trolling Trulia.com and placing rental ads for foreclosed properties.  I inquired to a woman named Valarie L. Smith.  She stated she owned the home and was renting it for $800.00 per month.  She asked for my bank information, pay stub and references.  I stated to her that I worked for the US Federal Government (which I do) and that I don't give out that information until I am ready to rent.  The telephone number that I was contacted from is 724-471-6285.  The email address was vicaragecustomerservice001@gmail.com.  I have already contacted the police department, the brokerage firm selling the home and the bank that owns the home.

These people are scumbags and are using Google Voice for their telephone number.  DON'T GIVE THEM ANY MONEY!!!!

I am so disappointed but also so grateful I found this out before going farther. after the first couple of contacts which were the exact same as these except for the address,  they asked me for a lot of personal info such as references and a copy of my check stub. I didn't send it but instead started asking for proof that they were not a scam. i knew the price of this beautiful home in Arlington texas was too good to be true. oh well I guess Ill have to keep looking for a home for my family.

i recieved a messege from a lady named geneva messersmith for a property i was interested in renting in mesquite tx. the email struck me as odd from the way it was worded and that the house was alread cheap on rent and came with all utilities paid. So, i decided to look up renter scams and googled the number she gave me. I found the posting on trulia.com and know that the house was vacant. But thank you and i just wanted to post on hear to reiterate that this is a smammer and i thank you for the confirmation of my suspisions.

I just got scammed today by a man named william r leon him and  his family out in texas doing missionaries,hes supposably  renting out a house in alhambra c a ,3  bedroom 2  bath  for only 800 a  month  with utilities included , it sounded to good to be true, just when I  was about  to  send the money to his secretary thru western union something made me realize I was doing wrong, so I asked him straight out are you scamming me  because I have a family to worry about, he replied are you going to send the money or not,I asked him for information about himself and I never heard from him again .THIS IS REAL SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS THANK GOD I DIDN'T GIVE HIM MY SOCIAL  OR ANY  PERSONAL PERSONAL  info  but  please be aware  DONT TRUST CRAIGSLIST  oh and this guys number was..775-237-8894.

Thank you guys for posting the email contacts with the number - exact same group hit me when I was in a bind and I lost 2000 to them, 1200 to a credit union, 800 to moneygram (I knew right then that I'd been had, but the ID theft of this group is quite well done).

The credit union did nothing to help when reported.
I tried doing something through the Dallas FBI and IC3.gov - but that went absolutely no where. These guys have been using the same email for multiple years and still running the scam. I found the money changer in PA, Dick Moller -

OMG!!!  I just went thru the same scam.....  I almost sent him $1000.00 via money gram...  But some thing in the pit of my stomack kept me feeling like there was something wrong. It was to good to be true.. Errrr... what a***s.....  The property is in League City, Texas 77573

I received the exact same email while searching for a place near Berkeley and I was about to go ahead! How scary!! Thank goodness I saw these posts.

Before we left  we search  Berkeley, CA a God fearing and reputable agent who can take good care of the house but we couldn't get any honest agent . all agent we came across are not honest and they are ripper, The first agent we put our house in care almost get us in trouble by renting out my house to many applicant but thanks to God we have settled the issue, currently i have order them to remove there sign board away from my house , i am sure there most have done that but in case they have not remove it dont contact them for any reason, You can reach agreement with me owner , because of the issue i experience with those dishonest agent We decide to left with the key, remote and the papers. I'm willing to rent out the home to a person who can promise me he/she will care for the house as we use to do when we are in the state and who is able to come up with monthly rent of $1000 and a security deposit of $1000($2000) but Security Deposit first as a move in deposit and I will like him/her to assure me that the house will be properly managed. Concerning the lease, duration is minimum of 6months, 12 months or according to the wish of -tenant need. I have received some proposals regarding the rent because it is located in a very good area of Berkeley, CA, FLbut I still have to make sure it is rented out to someone who can take good care of it. I'm giving out the home with such a reasonable amount because I am only paying God back for his kindness and mercy over me and my family with that I have asked for such a reasonable amount. It`s also a pride for me to work for him on a missionary work. Also I need someone/a family that will take good care of the house as their own property. We would be here in LasVegas for 5 years with my family throughout our missionary call If you can assure me that you can take proper care of the property and also you can afford the move in deposit, kindly confirm your interest by getting back to me with the below application details...

I am so stunned !!!  I had the EXACT same scenario as some of these people.  I was suspicious from the start because of his story about the agent and how they are "Rippers".  I even looked up the name on the house of the addressed he listed and he was using the same name as the listed homeowner.  I am going to play along now and see how far he or she will take this.  I am going to do everything I can to see if we can find out who this is and see if we can catch him and get him convicted and put in jail !!!

And this was my response to all 3 of the pathetic scammers I dealt with....Thanks so much but as for you and your family, I will be praying for you. Your inappropriate behavior to use The Lord in vain is an embarrassment. Stop scamming people and committing such hurtful sin. May God place harsh judgement in your life and hit you in such a way that you repent of your ways and ask for forgiveness.

I was dealing with a person who called themselves Cynthia L. Kreeger, who was in a missionary in Las Vegas but assured me she was the home owner at 8421 Bayberry Rd, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730. The home was renting for $800 & security deposit was $1000. This Cynthia claimed to have the keys & paperwork to this home in her possession in Las Vegas. Cynthia started to text me in the early morning hours asking if I had driven by the house? I replied I had and wanted to know how to proceed. Cynthia stated she needed me to confirm my mailing address so that she could make the proper arrangements to have the keys mailed to me. I looked this property up on zillow.com and it showed the property had been sold in 4/2013 at a foreclosure auction. Still I wanted to know more about this scammer so I continued to go along with there instructions and as I continued with the questions, I stopped hearing from this so called Cynthia. THIS IS A SCAM!

This person pretended to be an owner of one of our rental properties. He places fake ads on Postlets, Trulia, and Hotpads dropping the rent in half to pray on desperate people. He also trys to get people to pay him $1,000 and put it in his "assistants" Wells Fargo account. He gave the routing and account information. I hope he goes to jail. Major scammer and also uses multiple phone numbers. 803-210-9267 is also one of his numbers.

Said his name was Spencer and my application for rental property was accepted.
