I have received a call fro this number on my cell as well as work. I have told them that I contacted the authorities and to stop calling because I knew that they were a scam. Later on today I kept getting a call from 911 when I finally answered It was the same voice but a guy told me her was a officer from the LAPD and that he had a warrant for me and where should he send it. I told him that I never refused to pay because I wanted to see what would happen and an hour later this number called back. First I wish these people would be a little smarter if they were going to do this. First if you are a real officer from California then you would call from a California number not 911, second this numbers area code is in Florida not California and I live in New York. Complete scam.

When I answered, the name given was Jacob Walter.  He stated that I had charges against me for some kind of check fraud and that he needed my lawyers information to continue with proceedings against me, and if I didn't have an attorney that I needed to hire a criminal attorney.

He has called me several times, each time with a different name. The first call I received  was from a loan department, and when he told me he couldn't use my account, he asked me for another account. I informed him that I did not own an account he could use and he called me a liar, so I figured he was a fraud//scammer, so I hung up on him. He keeps calling me back and leaving threatening voicemail. I saved the last one just in case, for proof.

Have been receiving threatening calls from "Connie and Linz" also. Threats of lawsuits, subpoenas, etc.  Would not provide or send me a letter, bill of validation.  Calls from Erik Wilson and John Marshall (Restitution Manager)?

I recieved a call from the same people saying I have a lawsuit pending about a loan I never even took out. I have never taken a loan out. I just merely inquired about one. I never gave confirmation about depositing a loan in my account or anything. This has got to be a scam. I called the guy a fraud and he started cursing me out telling me he was going to make my life a living hell!. Real professional coming from a fake paralegal.

No, of course you're not going to be arrested.

Debt is a civil matter, NOT criminal, so no one is arrested for defaulting on a loan.  You already know you've paid your loans back, so do not take the word of some random stranger that you are in trouble.

Even if you did owe money, you NEVER pay anyone who refuses to MAIL (not email or fax) a debt validation letter proving you owe a debt to them.  Read about the FDCPA and learn your rights as a consumer.  Do report the callers to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General.

When the scammers (because that's who they are) call back, let them know you've reported them and that you are recording all calls they make to you for use in a lawsuit for multiple violations of the FDCPA (say this even if you don't have an attorney - scammers don't like to be recorded).

This "Connie Law Firm" called and would not release the city or anything where they were from, and the phone number is not a valid business phone number. This is a scam, they got your phone number info from filing for these stupid pay day loans.

A David Leo with Conne and Linz law firm called my office for me yesterday while I was not at work from 727-324-4724.  When I called back I spoke with a male "paralegal" who read me some mismash about a lawsuit pending for a payday loan I had taken that was past due for payment.  He would not give me a copy of the document he read to me, nor would he give me the company or account number the loan paperwork it applied to.  I have some payday loans, but none are behind and I work closely with the companies to pay back the loans.  This phone number and/or law firm is definitely not real.  This is a scam.
