This is a donation, (to the sherriffs dept) and I have donated before.  It's a shame, but a direct donation to the sherriffs dept would help much more.... I don't know what percentage this calling company actually gives to the dept, but it would be interesting to find out.

Got a call from this number today, from a woman named Lisa Taylor who asked for my boss.  She was very elusive and when I asked if it was client related, she rudely said, "It's a civic matter, MA'AM!"  Needless to say I will not be passing along the message to my boss, nor will they be getting a donation from us!

I agree and they call our office all the time. The calls sound so intimidating. I almost want to report them,but it really is for a donation.

This company is misrepresenting itself as selling ad space on the Pinellas County Sheriff's Department web site. This is fraudulent. No government agency is authorized to sell advertising space to the public, and the money collected will most certainly NOT end up "helping boys at risk steal second base" instead of stealing from your business. Hang up. Call the local police department. And question the caller with gusto! Don't give your address, don't give your credit card number, don't give them a check.

Yes- its for a donation.  If you want to donate- contact the sherriffs department directly.  Very sleazy way to try and get money.

Got a call from them recently.  Mike Gomez calling from Sherriff's office..regarding a civic matter.  He made it a point to say that they were not looking for a handout and no one was in trouble.

Received msg from Mike Gomez who didnt mention he was from the Sherriff's Office but did say that it was regarding my business and made it seem as if it were a business related call. He also called and mentioned my name.

The company name is Onit Enterprise of Florida and they?re basically just a telemarketing service for hire that do fund raising.

This phone number is calling to try to SCAM money for the Fraternal Order of Police. I have NOT called the number, nor will I.  It directs you to a customer service department that can answer questions using potentially manipulative techniques, help you waste your donation on fundraising fees, or anything else related to the FOP getting a small fraction of your donation, 12% to 27% Some fundraiser's pocket as much as 73% to 90% and up. Also, there?s information on www.badgefraud.org on the massive numbers of warnings put out by FOP Lodges that do not use so called professional fundraisers and Real Police and Sheriff and Fire Departments. But you can contact them there with any questions or requests.

BadgeFraud (dot) org is doing a lot of really great things for POLICE OFFICERS FAMILIES and the people that post are NOT trying to raise money, they are trying to protect the money of the people who protect us, and that is something very good.
