received text message at 9:57pm 4/2/11 saying: Pinellas FCU ALERT:  Your card has been DEACTIVATED.  Please contact us at 727-798-3864.

Your account from Westfield Savings has been deactiviated

Received a text message with the same message as everyone else. Without a doubt a scammer.

RECEIVED CALL ON 4/2/11  FROM 727-798-3864 ON MY CELL PHONE. A RECORDED MESSAGE WAS LEFT SAYING THAT THEY WERE CALLING FROM PINELLAS FEDERAL CREDIT UNION AND MY CREDIT CARD WAS DEACTIVATED AND I NEEDED TO CALL THEM. WELL I BELONG TO THE ACHIEVA CREDIT UNION WHICH I BELEIVE WAS AT ONE TIME A PART OF THE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION. THEY ASKED FOR MY 16 DIGIT CARD NUMBER, AND STUPID ME, I GAVE IT TO THEM, AND A RECORDED MESSAGE SAID THAT IT WAS NOT THE RIGHT CARD.
AFTER I REALIZED WHAT WAS REALLY GOING ON, I THOUGHT TO MYSELF WHAT A FOOL I WAS. I CHECKED MY CREDIT UNION ACCOUNT ONLINE TODAY WHEN I COULD GET BACK TO MY COMPUTER (TWO DAYS LATER THEN THE CALL) NO ACTIVITY HAD BEEN DONE AND EVERYTHING SEEMED ALRIGHT. I ALSO CALLED MY CREDIT UNION AND GAVE THEM THE WHOLE STORY TODAY,( BECAUSE THEY WERE CLOSED ON THE WEEKEND.)
I AM STILL VERY UNEASY ABOUT THE SITUATION AND IT REMINED ME TO BE MORE CAREFUL.

Also received the same text message.  A scam am sure

I have also received a tex last night at 114PM from 727-798-3864 which said my card is deactivated and to call 303-859-8232. I also have AT&T and this must definitely be a scam from what I am reading from other people. Don't call!!!

I got one of those messages in the middle of the night last night as well.  I had the same thought as scam? in that what kind of business sends messages like that in the middle of the night and on a Saturday to boot?  I also have AT&T and am considering reporting to both the police and to the carrier, too many of these could get costly if you have limited text messages as we do.

We got the same message and have at&t as well. We are reporting it to the police. We thought it was odd because we dont have this bank and what bank is open in the middle of the night to text you? Definitely a scam!!!!!

I also received a text stating to call 727-798-3864. Stating that Your CARD has been DEACTIVATED.  Please conatc us at 727-798-3264.   I called the number from a land line and it asked for me to put in my 16 digit credit card number.  I did not put in number.  I immediately went and googled this #.  It seems suspious.  I did not enter my credit card number.

I have AT&T and received the same text this evening. Definitely appears to be a scam. I am sure the credit union will confirm this is not legit via a official statement soon.

DO you have AT&T?

Two of my children received this same text called and it disconnected. I am wondering is anyone else getting them we have AT&T

Got a text from 1-303-859-8232 that said:

Pinellas FCU Alert:
Your CARD has been DEACTIVATED.  Please contact us at 727-798-3864.

I have never had a card with any local bank in Pinellas. Just tried calling both numbers twice from Skype each time the call was terminated on their end. I would not suggest calling from a phone to test it out it might be a phishing scam pulling phone numbers.

Looks like a scam.
